(I'll tell you what it is, after I look at the sack-it is wonderful) By the way, I was thinking of you today. Did that blackberry I rooted for you ever take off? If not I have discovered another shoot starting if you want it. Tonight wass not so pleasant for Dennis. He has been having sharp pains in his side today and after a 1/2 hour of attempting to lay down in bed, he finally went back to the recliner. He is only parttially laid back and sound asleep with his head resting on his hand. Surely his neck is going to be sore tomorrow. But we go back to the Doc in the morning. So I am going to curl up next to him tonight on the sofa. You all know how much I love my him, he's my world. It pains me to see him hurting. We will get through this! Love you guys!

Within a week they were all back."....You shouldn't plant Ipomoea purpurea where it is going to be difficult to remove volunteers, although if you cut an annual type of MG seedling , below the cotyledons, it will NOT grow any further and a lawnmower set to very low or a simple weed-wacker works fine in removing any unwanted volunteers...Sometimes seeds will stay dormant in the soil for a couple years, although 'strangely', even though I study Morning Glories with some intensity, and frankly I do know how to identify different species, unlike most of the people posting all over the web, I have NEVER had the type of 'other-worldy' invasivness that some people report, so something is 'askew' somewhere in the 'formula'...I own 3 groups devoted exclusively to MG's, Moderate a 3rd and contribute to a host of professional sites on MG identification...The suppliers don't have packages labeled correctly as far as the species , or the cultivar...Scarlett O'Hara should be Ipomoea nil, not Ipomoea purpurea and Ipomoea nil is not generally a big self-sower, so, dis-information causes problems when disseminated by merchants or annoyed growers...I rarely come through this site anymore , because of the loss of functionality (e.g., no more internal messaging), although anyone interested to contact me , can do so by clicking onto my name and looking at my homepage.

I don't think they're cowboy hats. They're pins. They're more like a roughrider hat that the cavalry wore. I thought they might be part of a uniform. The other metal pins and tags say S.&.W.E.C. and M.R.E.P. CO. Those are white rocks of some sort - with sparkly gray running through them. I don't know if that's a ladies purse or some sort of ditty bag for men. The coin purse is double clasped. The center leather piece is missing from the frame, but I can see where it was stitched at one time so that it was a shallow coin purse one side and a longer one on the other. It's about 6" long. The paint brush is as soft as baby hair and doesn't look like it's been used. The red tip on the end looks like it was put there for a reason -- dunno. Those other metal things (I forget what they're called) are like victorian souvenir advertisements. One says "Dog On" Good Whiskey (there's more writing on the back -from Kentucky; the other is from the Alaska -Yukon - Pacific Exposition - Seattle 1909. Thanks for your input.

That you everyone for your kind comments. It is very much appreciated. Gail, nothing on this chair is glued. We sewed the welt on the bottom of the chair, and then is stapled it on. I can see from the photos that I have to staple tacking strip on the underside of the chair (on top of the welt). To answer your question when we do a chair that has double welt we hot glue it on and yes, it's the same welt you buy in the craft stores. I know I said I was going to photograph the covering of this chair with a tuturial, but truthfully this chair was a daunting and exausting tast, thus I was too tired to take photos. The seat is the first thig we did, it took all day and came out awful, so we started all over. It is made with 5 pieces of leather sewn together. The second seat came out very good. Here is a pic, (the one and only pic of the upholstering ) It shows the fresh new matting we covered the chair with. The second thing to be done was the inside back, then the inside arms, then the outside arms, and finally the outside back. Actually it was DH's idea to strip the old sofa... The only thing we had to buy is the leather needles, which we ended up not using.
