DH and I want to buy a new sofa, chair-and-1/2 and storage ottoman (preferably on casters, so I can move it around easily).

We like furniture with big proportions, over-sized, etc. Sofa has to be larger than 95" wide.

We want upholstered, not leather. We want a panel arm and kick pleat skirt.

We are undecided as to whether we do semi-attached or loose back. What are the pros and cons of each?

We are also undecided about whether or not to pay more for the down-wrapped cushions. Besides the "cushier" feel, is there any difference in terms of durability or wear?

In terms of fabrics we like, we've been gravitating toward the velvets, chenilles, soft cottons, etc.

We currently have a sleeper sofa which has not held up well at all because of a low-quality frame. Who makes good quality sleeper sofas?

We are completely new to this and need some major guidance. We don't need heirloom-quality stuff, but we don't want something that NEEDS to be replaced in 5 years, either.

We would love to spend approximately $3500. Are we kidding ourselves to think that we can find 3 quality pieces for this price?

We have no kids & no pets. Just us and friends who like to visit.
