Four hours of sunlight is almost certainly better than those four hours under your lights, but I don't think its exactly make or break difference if its only every 3 or 4 days. Four hours of sun every day would be a big help I'm sure for those greedy annuals.

I can safely say I will never bring a gift that has anything to do with cooking. I wish everyone would restrict their gift donations to gardening items. Books on gardening are good items, garden tools, garden hats, gloves, aprons, clogs, lotions, trugs, soaps, seed containers, garden accoutrements such as a garden totem would be nice. Food items are acceptable, but they should be substantial, for example a pie or a pan of brownies would be great, one or two slices of pie or brownies would not. Normally we save food items just for sharing though, so consider whether you would want to get a pie as a door prize. ( I think I would, but if I had a choice I might go for the garden tools first.) Anyway, use your imagination when selecting a door prize to bring and before you bring some old, dated, tattered item that you haven't been able to sell at your last three garage sales, remember that it will likely be the last item left on the table after everyone has chosen the "good stuff" and you may actually overhear the comment, "what a cheesy door prize" from the picker-upper. Personally, I like to bring something that everyone says, "Ooh, I want that!" IMHO-Cheryl

Don't want to hijack but we have the Vision Pro IAQ and humidifier. Outdoor temp sensor, temp always displayed. Manual says hit "More" for indoor RH display, Frost Control and dehumidification on the "humidifier screen" (page 17) but I can't get this screen. There is also no "Auto" setting under System setting, so we have to manually change from heat/cool and back again at least twice a year (spring and fall can get a little tricky when we might want a little cooling during day but heat at night). We also see in the right hand corner the temperature set to, and under it "Heat On" but we never see when it switches from geo to Aux (15kW) heat. We leave the breaker for electric heat turned off til Tgiving every year (2nd winter in this house) and turn it off again sometime in April. But it sure would be nice to know when the electric heat is running so we can figure out temp settings to minimize it running. All in all, it doesn't seem to have quite the same screens and options as the manual says it does, even though I've gone through all the Advanced Functions looking for ways to get to them. We keep it 68 during the day, 65 at night (bump it up 1 degree every 45 min starting at 5:30am so hopefully Intelligent Recovery can kick in and not run electric heat). Sometimes this can be 60 degrees more than outside. Are we keeping the house too warm? Installer says don't bump it up or down - seems to defeat the purpose of the smart thermostat he installed, but he says recovering from setback, even as slowly as I think we're doing it, causes the HP (Climatemaster Tranquility 27 4 ton) to run in higher stage. Anybody know anything about this? Thanks - that kinda turned into a HP question.

Depends what comes as standard features. If you are in a cold climate get the best insulation package you can get. In a hot climate the best ceiling insulation that they order. If it comes with plastic faucets, spring for metal. If the fixures don't have shuts off before each one, orderit with them. If a steel house door isn't standard, try to get it as an option. If windows are single pane, go for insulated. The best "bang for the buck" are the things that will save you money in the future or make the home easier to live in and not necessarily the things that look pretty and shiny.
