Cleaning shower with porcelain wall tiles and stone mosaic floor?
Comments (7)Thank you Kimram :) Which "mood" glass did you choose? Yes, I clean all three materials with the 50/50 solution. Remember, I don't have a shower as mentioned in by the OP. Yes the grout lines are sealed as well as the glass and tumbled travertine. I didn't want to darken the travertine so we used a water based sealer, not an enhancer. Same for the granite countertop. Sealing glass tiles before grouting is important because the fine lines and "crazing" in some glasses WILL be stained by the grout. I don't believe you can seal polished travertine. The sealer can't penetrate. My bathroom floor is 18" porcelain. I use a steam mop on all the tile in my house, including the travertine in the entry. I use a microfiber cloth and the water/alcohol to wipe down the travertine and glass on the walls, on the granite, wipe down appliances, windows...it's become my go to cleaner. Use a spray on granite polisher ever once in awhile. Good luck :) Can't wait to see your beautiful finished bathroom. Monica...See MoreWhat product to use for cleaning porcelain tiles & grout??
Comments (6)I hope you got some money, cuz this one's gonna break the bank: Hot water. This is why you paid the extra for a more durable surface like porcelain instead of going with vinyl. Enjoy it!! All it should take for most normal cleaning is plain clear hot water. Every once in a while (maybe once every 3-4 months) add some oxyclean to the water, and that should take care of anything that might be a bit tougher to get out....See Morecleaning porcelain tile and grout
Comments (3)jerry t-- are saying that I could have the crevices filled with grout and then seal it, by a company, and my issue will be fixed? lynn2006-- myself and my sons have brushed and scoured. Yes it works but, when you have a dining room, living room, kitchen, family room, etc. to do trust me you want to find an easy and hopefully semi-permanent solution to the problem. Also, it does not stay with that just cleaned look after all the sports paraphernalia, friends and other items associated with teenagers roll into the house....See MoreHow to clean porcelain white tile and white grout over marble floor?
Comments (1)Baking soda is safe for cleaning grout on a marble floor. Use baking soda and toothbrush. Clean only the grout. This will work for the porcelain tile grout also. Best thing is use liquid rather than bar soap to bathe with and always squeegee after showers, dry with towel, and keep fan blowing into the shower 24/7 to prevent mold. Do not use acid cleaners on marble....See Morededtired
