feather blend sofa cushions
Comments (10)Oh boy sister 3, I hope I don't rain on your parade after this post. My DD has a sectional that's feather filled, and it's a PITA! After about 2/3 days of sitting, the cushions need to be fluffed, and since they're so heavy, fluffing isn't just picking a cushion up, shaking it, and expecting the feathers to 'do what they're supposed to do'. When I go there, i'll take each cushion, and literally pound it with my fists, on EACH side~the welting seems to move and needs 're-adjusting'. They have a vacation house in the desert and they're thinking of taking it there and getting a 'regular' sofa to replace the feather one. I hope you have better luck with yours. I know they didn't get theirs from EA, but it was far from cheap! patty_cakes...See MoreAnyone with H&M sofa that does not like the down-filled cushions?
Comments (12)johnxyz, here are a few worth looking at and some tips: barileatherfurniture.com cascobayfurniture.com clubfurniture.com restorationhardware.com leathergroups.com Most of those are all online stores I believe, Restoration Hardware has stores all over though. RH is probably the most expensive out of those, but they have good quality from what I have seen/read. I shopped around for about 6-7 months before I bought from Bari Furniture. I got a 4 peice set for just under $3k, it was 8 way hand tied, down blend seats, hardwood frame, and really nice leather. It was in their clearance section, seems like an amazing deal, so I definitely think it is worth it to shop around a lot at as many places as you can. My best advice is to shop around a lot, sign up for email lists or newsletters on the online sites (they often give out coupons), ask for price matches if possible, and pay attention to what is in the clearance sections....See MoreAnyone own a Sherril Spring Down or Comfort Down Sofa?
Comments (2)About 90% of upholstery manufacturers outsource their cushions to mostly local foam/cushion converters. The individual core springs can vary in gauge, usually between 14 and 18 and width of 2 1/2 to 3 x 3" to 3 1/2" height. The most important part of a spring cushion is the type of material they use between the spring core and the blend/down envelope. Because this is usually what breaks down first, and so the cushion begins to loose their shape in time. Actually a 2 pound density or higher HR foam will hold its shape better and last just as long as a spring-blend/down cushion....See MoreCan I see pics of throw pillows that *didn't* come with your sofa
Comments (26)I had pillows made by an upholster. I made my out of 2 different fabrics so I can switch with the seasons - with the welt cord a contrasting fabric. Here they are with the wool plaid for winter. And here with the khaki linen. Older pic but only one I have with old couch... On my club chairs I had kidney pillows made the same way but they are tufted with a button of the constrasting fabric. Smiles:)...See MoreRelated Professionals
