I chose that style door hoping that the vertical panels would not make it look so wide and I am also keeping the doors white hoping the contrast will help too. I think once the front stairs are in it will help. My stairs will be wide enough to add potted plants. We have a fairly long driveway with a gentle curve. I do plan to put a lamp post and a small garden area around it located next to the walkway. I am sure once the landscaping is done the plantings will bring your eye to that area and not focus so much on the garage.

Fori - I would think glossy would show fingerprints too but yes, I'm sure that's what she said and even on the company's website it states they don't recommend the matte on dark finishes because of that. Louis - There are many other colors but I am pretty set on the black/honey combination. The table top and chair seats(which will get most of the use) will have the honey finish and the table base and chair frame will be in black, which they call ebony. I'm thinking the satin finish may be the safest finish of the three options...

Two North Carolina discounters that carry Saloom and ship nationwide are Alman's Furniture and FurnitureLand South. Alman's had the better price when I called, is a real furniture store that has been in business for 60+ years, and the few customer reviews I could find on the web were positive. I ended up negotiating a comparable price from a local retailer and ordered from it, but Alman's seemed like a good alternative if my local store hadn't been willing to nearly match Alman's price.
