Craftsman Garage Door Opener
Comments (1)A model number sure would have helped in this case. If you want to be 100% sure you need to replace the entire opener. The odds of the person opening your door after you do the following is slim to none but slim is always there. On the back of the motor unit near where all those white wires go you will find a smart/learn button . Hold this in for 6 seconds and it will erase all codes from your receiver and none of your remotes will work. Just to prove it try the remaining remote. Now to program the receiver back to the remaining remote press and hold the button on your remote while you press and immediately release the smart/learn button on the back of the motor unit. If instead of the smart/learn button you find a series of small switches post back....See MoreCraftsman Remote Stolen - does erasing codes in opener disable it
Comments (7)Hi mtnmansgirl, the odds are VERY low that an erased powerhead would still work with a stolen remot ethat is not realigned. Use the lock button if youhave one when you go to bed or out of town. The odds of a home invasion or burglary via a wondow ar much higher than the 1 in a million (sometimes billion with some models) type odds the old remote will still work. Or , if you have a lock button on your wall control, lock out remotes, and buy and use two keypads as your remotes....See MoreCraftsman Garage door opener will not open garage door
Comments (3)sorry to be confusing--the first door opener quit working after I replaced the battery. I had a second opener which also quit after replacing the battery. I now have two openers that no longer work. If your theory is correct, can you advise how to fix it? Thank you!...See MoreCraftsman 1/2 HP Garage Door Opener - Resetting?
Comments (9)chicat2001 - You will find a button (smart/learn) just to the left of where all those white wires go. Press and hold it for 6 seconds. This will erase the memory in the opener and your remote should no longer work. Now press and hold the large button on your remote and then press and immediately release the smart/learn button. Your unit is now reprogrammed. jbenford - Check for a broken spring on your door or remove the cover of the opener and check the drive gear. It is a white nylon gear just in front of the motor....See MoreRelated Professionals
