I have a few weeks off work and have decided to pull up the carpet in my livingroom, office and foyer. I dont have concrete flooring underneath. I have a little dog that has wet on the carpet and I want to put down flooring. I think I can put down the laminate snap type myself. But after going to Lowes the sales man was telling me the hardwood was a better investment to my home. I dont want to put something in that cheapens the look-the hardwood does look much nicer--and, of course much more expensive...my home value is about 200K,a nice victorian style, not a million dollar home, but not a barn either...any advice here??. I want something practical, looks nice, but not cheap.
