This is Anderson Cooper's Ridiculist, you must watch it.

(And I love the part when he says "Anybody who uses the word 'class' except when referring to a rooom where learning is happening, has none". It made me think of the knock down drag out discussion here about dark vs light colors.

I'm sorry, but I don't get the appeal of watching women dressed in slutty clothing with questionable fashion sense, and a exaggerated sense of self importance engage in cat fights.

Hi Kids, I watched on Tuesday night and thought it was a good ending to the season. I guess I'm the only one here who is not grossed out by Simon. I don't mind him and I thought his outfit was very interesting. He looked like he was wearing an outfit that John Lennon or Ringo Starr wore back in the late 60s, early 70s. No big deal to me. I see both Simon and Alex as being very different and, that's OK. They add to the diversity. I thought the charity event was interesting, loud and a bit more raucous than I would have expected. I guess if you pay that much to attend a party, you feel you can act anyway you want. The fight between Jill and Bethenny was interesting. I thought Bethenny was way wrong, trying to discuss the signage issue in the middle of the event. Surley she could see that Jill was nervous and off the wall already...not at all the right time. But, Jill stood her ground and in the end, Bethenny backed down. What is it with Bethenny? I like her, but that was the 3rd major confrontation she has been involved in this season. I guess she likes being in the middle of drama. She also has very thin skin. The 'conversation' between Kelly & Bethenny was also interesting. I think they were talking about two different issues. Kelly was talking about the 'Madonna' comment at the charity meeting and Bethenny was talking about the first confrontation at the Bar. Until they single out the issues and discuss them one at a time, they will never get together. I don't mind Kelly. I felt she was a bit out of context for most of this season, but I don't dislike her. Ramona is still a idiot. I look forward to the reunion next week. It will be interesting to get the updates...Alex lost her job, The Countess is now in the middle of a divorce and Bethennys book is on the New York Times Best Sellers list. Oh...and Kelly was arrested for assault. What else will we learn? sooey

I started reading "The Spire," by Richard North Patterson, but gave up on it. It was my first book by him, and I found it boring. Now I'm reading "The Two-Minute Rule," by Robert Crais. I like Crais a lot, and this book has many fans. So I'm persevering, but I must say the book hasn't grabbed me yet. I don't watch many movies, but I was sick this week. In addition to lots of episodes of Gilmore Girls and The Closer on DVD, I watched the movie "Enchanted." I thought it was charming.

Mummsie, I have never read "Christine" so I am reluctant to comment. It seems, however, from what other writers have said, to take the fact of her teen-age daughter's death to create fiction. Elizabeth had a troubled relationship with this daughter and packed her off to a very strict school in Germany. Not long after, the daughter died of pneumonia during WW1 in Germany. Elizabeth wrote "Christine" under a different name, in order to protect yet another daughter still in Germany. She created fictional letters from a daughter who died to a mother abroad. The purpose was to aid the Allied war effort with the book's negative view of Germany. Elizabeth, according to what I have read, was roundly criticized for this device as so many people believed the book to be non-fiction when it was published. Not exactly a warm and fuzzy story.

Those "music" videos are positively puke-worthy!

I agree with Terriks, although I do confess to watching several episodes of the NYC bunch. Afterward, I always felt a bit mentally dirty: That was an hour of my life wasted that I could never again get back.

Shallow people famous for simply attempting to be famous. Kinda makes me long to be a hermit, and definitely makes me fear for the future of humanity. Anyone see "Idiocracy"? Yeah. We're there.

Confession time for me too - I was flipping through channels and stopped for too long on the RH of Beverly Hills. It was such a train wreck I couldn't look away. I kept trying to figure out why anyone would want to alter their face/body to look like that.

It's like a car that's on fire. You shouldn't watch, but sometimes you find yourself staring in disbelief and horror.

I just loved AC's story though. He is so funny.

The housewives shows are turning into infomercials there's so much shameless self-promotion going on. Everyone's got a book, a song, or a couture line. They're cashing in on this gravy train.

I can only take about five minutes of these shows. My husband LOVES them and I have no idea why. When he has one of those shows on were someone is delusional enough to think they can sing, well, I just can't take it and scream for him to turn it off. It's bewildering to me that these women call each other friends when all they do is fight and say nasty things about each other.
