Cottage style coffee table

Hello - Does anyone have any suggestions where I can find the following coffee table?

Rectangular

Has to have at leaset one drawer (DH request)

Two levels (i.e. top and bottom)

Inexpensive (preferrably less than $200 but negotiable)

Beach House / cottage styling but NOT country looking

(I'd like white but could probably work with a darker color too)

The closest I've found was Ethan Allen (Cottage Coffee Table) but it doens't have a drawer and is very pricey.

Any other ideas? (I'm in Central VA and wouldn't mind ordering online but I won't be heading long distances for a coffee table alone)

Try Broyhill "Costal Way", "pleasant isle", and "urban view" collections. Also, look at Stanley Furniture "Portofino Ivory".

Target has this one. It has the levels, but instead of drawers it has baskets. It's under $200.00 and wood. Also check out JC Penney.

Nosoccermom, yes, for the DR table I expect the bark will come off with use. The table maker sprayed it with the same water based finishing as the table top, but the bark is still vulnerable. DH and I may finish the bark in a much stronger product to secure it more. And we should use a table cloth when eating. But regardless, on a table that will be used frequently I'm sure we'll lose some bark. That's okay I guess, the table will still work. ;) Robo, love that chair from Pier1. I never think of Pier1. I had thought I would go with a cheap knock off of the Eames shell, only $65 I think from EQ3 or Structube: But I think I prefer a tall windsor like the marcel. EQ3 sells the Lyla for $179 but I've seen these in person and they seem too small. I think the Marcel is taller. He are the Lylas: I've been keeping an eye on Kijiji for antique Windsors too. I'm a bit wary though, as the antique dining chars I've purchased in the past were a bit fragile for daily use. Just found these online for $179 each, locally made it looks like, but not as elegant as the Marcel. I will definitely head to Pier1 and check them out.

Styling mantle & coffee table

What is the reason behing the mirror staying? It is reflecting railing, which is not interesting. The books are too short, so I would remove. I would explore choices: 1) all white pieces on the mantel, so it's more cohesive. Right now, the thngs on each side do not relate. 2) if the mirror is hiding something and needs to stay, I would paint frame black or dark brown and change the mirror out for art. I would also change it to horizontal. Then bring more color with accessories. Be sure to vary heights on both sides. Are those live plants on the coffee table? Try clustering them a bit more so they connect. Could do this on a woven/wicker tray to add texture. If not, put one on a book. What is the large piece on the bottom shelf? You could replace with a large basket underneath to keep throws nearby and to soften/add texture.

Looks Jacobean to me. True Jacobean furniture dates from the 1600s, but there was a Jacobean revival running from the emd of the 1800s to the 1950s. Coffee tables were a fairly modern invention, but people have been known to cut ddown the legs of taller tables to make them into coffee tables, which may have happened to your table. Furniture from the 50s had time to get beat up like your table.

I remember this room from a while back. Those dragon pillows are gorgeous and that fabric is very expensive, so I'm not surprised that they cost so much. I think the pillows are fine, I'd leave them as is. My first reaction was that the mantel needs nothing, the coffee table is too small, but it would look better without anything tall on it (the existing vase, or an orchid). I'd place a couple of nice books and maybe something short, like a small bowl or plate. The swivel chair could be moved to another room, but honestly in your area of the "gold coast of Connecticut" which I'm assuming is in the Greenwich/Darien/Westport area, nothing in that room is going to hinder a sale. It's a very desirable area and the home will probably be snapped up very quickly, regardless of the number of pillows on your sectional!

Grassgirl - Do have a look at Kathypass's table. Those wicker baskets can be very usable. I fell in love with and bought on impulse an Ethan Allen coffee table, very large, slightly French lines, pine, with three wicker baskets. Anyone familiar with EA knows this table. Got it home and boy, did it NOT work in my LR. We shifted furniture around and it just would not work. Two days before the EA people were to come and pick it up, DH and I shifted it into the den. Even thought it's huge, it's perfect there. I like the baskets rather than drawers, as they can be accessed from both sides of the table.

This was a long drawn-out way of saying that you might consider baskets instead of drawers.

An additional source to check might be the Home Decorators catalog (haven't been to their website). Their furniture is relatively inexpensive and they have every conceivable style and finish.

Some brands to consider would be Leisters furniture, Brown street, and AA Laun (sp?). All have painted finishes.

Pottery barn also has a nice white coffee table.

I am considering the Leister's coastal collection for my "cottage" family room, or the Brown street shaker collection...in painted two-tone finishes.

My favorite is the Leisters passages collection, which I am about to order for my shaker/english country style living room...The passages collection comes with wooden knobs (in addition to metal ones). ALthough I'm ordering in a dark finish, I have seen the passages collection in painted finishes and it looks cottage style.

Let me know what you decide! I would not recommend ordering from EA! You could get better quality for less $. The Leister's coffee tables are about $300-400.

Thanks everyone for the great suggestions. I'm checking them all out.

As for baskets vs drawers...well DH has the requirement and he really doesn't ask for much, so I'll give him a drawer...or two!

Actually, he is right, we don't have any other furniture in the living room with a drawer so it is the only place to store pens, note pads, remotes, etc that are easily accessible. Most of the baskets would be too deep for that.
