We are/were planning to replace the 1st floor with Brazilian Teak, and the plan was to do the stairs in the same. I just spoke with a flooring guy who said it is difficult to get BT stair treads, and it is not a good idea to "build" the stair out of the flooring and a trim piece (I apologize for my floor-ignorance but I don't know the name of the trim.)
Does anyone know if this guy is right? Does building the stair lead to poor qualty or is it simply an aesthetic issue? Are BT stair treads really are that difficult to find?
Thanks for your help and knowledge!
