We are being told that our only choice for wood for a conrete floor with radiant heat is engineered hardwood. We are discouraged after looking for months...we have yet to find one that looks as nice as the thick floors. The grain is too even..often there are small slits in the surface. I've seen laminates that look more believable.

Can anyone suggest any that look like the real thing?

we are looking for natural cherry, hickory, mahogany
