How best to clean this bathroom tile?
Comments (22)But the elf also recommends using bleach on sanded grout. I had white grout with white countertop tiles in my kitchen. I did use bleach and it never whitened the grout. I tried sealing it and it didn't do anything. That's going to be the issue--what cleans it when it mildews? Are you squeegeeing? Graywings recommended a steam cleaner and I've heard they are good but you need to keep refilling the reservoir because the hand-helds are so small. Worth looking in to. I'd see if the John Bridges forum has addressed cleaning methods....See MoreTile most of the bathroom or tile the entire bathroom?
Comments (17)Sumod- The medicine cabinets are simple wood frames with a cabinet-grade plywood back that just sit in the stud cavity. Because of the dimensions, the front of the frame projects about 1"+ beyond the finished wall. The medicine cabinet doors are also plywood with veneered edges and they are attached to the frame with standard cabinet hinges (Euro hinges). The mirrors are just 1/4" plate glass ordered to size from a glass shop and held in place with mirror mastic and a metal strip at the bottom that you don't really see. The guy who did the cabinets just made the medicine cabinets as part of the job. I don't know about the door brand...we live in a large metro area that has lots of door shops and the doors are just solid core maple doors with the center cut out and a maple panel held in with molding. They're not stained; they simply have a couple coats of clear spray lacquer....See MoreBathroom Remodel - Matte Black Hexagon Tile
Comments (6)i have matte black and white checkerboard in my kitchen, and can attest to it showing water droplets, cat hair and flour dust. i expected it to happen but i love it so much i dont mind daily touch ups. in a childrens' bath, you need to decide if the 'look' is worth the 'issue'. if you don't mind it looks meh 6 days out of 7, then no problem. but i'm not seeing a big upside....See MoreHow do I clean oily body lotion off of matte finish bathroom wall?
Comments (4)It’s not just the matte finish in this case, it’s the Aura. I know because I have it all over my house in satin & semi-gloss. It’s impossible to scrub stuff off of it, doesn’t matter whether it’s something that’s normally hard to remove or not. The Valspar I put up myself in my old house w/ no prior painting experience was way better than this overrated BM paint....See Moresubwaytilebacksplash
