Comments (9)Both FlexSteel and Norwalk make good quality products. LuAnn's comments that she is unhappy with Norwalk seems unfounded. What is the basis of this statement. Quite frankly the two products are rather similar both use kiln dried hardwood plywood frames. Flexsteel uses and features their "U" shaped Flexolator spring. With Norwalk it's all about their cushions using a high quality Qualux foam cushion as standard with down and spring and down cushion upgrades available. Norwalk also has a huge selection of fabrics featuring over 850 fabrics. The tailoring of each company and the price range are similar. Really you couldn't go wrong with either company in their price range. Again not the top of the line quality and construction wise but you could do a lot worse....See MoreSectional Sofa Shopping help/ Arhaus?
Comments (2)Arhaus, like Restoration Hardware, and Pottery Barn have lots of stuff that looks good, looks fashionable, but when compared to other lines, not well made or comfortable. Look into (for about the same price) Taylor King (Portfolio Collection) where you can build a sectional pick your arm style, base options at no charge. $6300 for a 110" X 110 " sectional, 8 way hand tied, solid Maple frame. No down, down extra. Lot of fabrics to choose from for that price. Henredon, Fireside same options, grade C $7499 (Spring Blend Down seats, Down Backs, 8 way hand tied) 10-15 fabrics for that price. Flexsteel, $5000...See MoreOT: Small sectional sofas?
Comments (12)I have a family room that is off the kitchen too. MY DH loves our Natuzzi. They make many different styles, colors and sizes. I love being able to read near my kitchen. I agree a sofa that you sink into doesn't work when you are reading a cook book with something on the stove. Not knowing your style, colors etc.. I found a few sofas that are apartment size. These tend to be smaller. Rowe is normally large but they do have a few that are small. How about Baers sectional? Bergstorm is a furniture that sells small cozy sofas? Here are some pictures. ~boxerpups...See MoreSectional Sofa recommendations
Comments (12)There are multiple stores where I live (large metropolitan suburbs) where you can have a custom sectional made, for about what you'd pay at Room & Board. I got to choose the fabric, the welting, the exact size, the depth, the arm width and shape, the firmness of the cushion, poly wrap v. down wrap, the shape of the feet, the finish on the feet, and more. We got a 3-sided sectional (44" deep), approximately 148" , 168" on the back, and the 3rd side is a long chase with a huge ottoman. Yes, it's huge. As I recall, it was less than $5,000. Of course people sit on all 3 sides and talk. We also have other families over to watch the Superbowl, and things like that, and everyone loves the huge, deep sectional. We have a large family, and the kids have friends over, and that's our lifestyle. So while I understand the sofa + 2 chairs for flexible design, that really wouldn't work in our situation, and I bet there's lots others who are in our same situation. I think it's a personal decision, but it's a good idea to hear all these different points of view....See Morethinkpink1718
