These are just lovely. I am thinking I may have screwed up with my fireplace. I didnt want it. The best wall for it would obstruct the view out back. I wanted my view... gosh darn it. So, I tried to compromise, since I have everything else that I wanted, so I said, okay, but I want as LLAAAAARGE of windows as I can get on each side. So that is what I got - Big Windows, Small Fireplace. Now, the fireplace is gorgeous and cozy. And I still have my windows for a view on a snowy day, watching the fire and the birds feeding..... but I wont have much room for stone on the side. Which might work out, that is yet to be seen. I went ahead and lowered the ceiling from 2 story back down to 9 ft in order to get another room above, so maybe it will look okay since it is a shorter ceiling? (deep sigh) I hope so. Maybe I should be thinking tile instead of stone, but we already have the stone leftover from the exterior, and maybe it shouldnt go all the way up, just mantle height... (another deep sigh) Might have to start a new thread here before too long.

Thank goodness for the home decorating forum. This site has been very helpful to me also. I have become much better at accessorizing over the years, because of looking at all sorts of books and magazines, and there are quite a few sites that will teach you the in's and out's of accessorizing (if you believe there's such a thing). What it does, it provides you with a basic understanding of tablescaping, or accessorizing. I feel it has helped me develop an eye for what works, and what doesn't. Just play with what you have until you feel good with what you've come up with. Sometimes you come up with something you like on the first try. Sometimes you have to just give up for the time being.

No specific photos, but take a trip to your local library and search out "Family Handyman" magazine. Once a year or so, they feature complete plans for bookcases and built-in wall units. Most of these are designed for beginner woodworkers and are quite detailed. You can also find a number of books on the subject if you can search under "storage units" "built-ins" or "bookcases." A bit late as I was traveling Here is my Spice Stack Closed up spices - I have more in my baking area - but this allows me to use standard bottle for most of my general spices. Dish Drawer - still working on the final resolution - I know longer have the 8 lb peg board in it. My baking cabinet - extra flour is in the pantry - but I think I have about 8 varieties... Blind corner - I used these cheap Copco lazy susan units until I get energetic to make something better. i only use on the top 2 shelves. Above oven - similar to others How do you say OCD - LOL :-) The insert is Rev-a-shelf for the silver and just plain knife block from the local vacuum store. I think it is a Wustoff. Vertical drawer dividers so I don't have to unstack most items - but loved the idea of tension curtain rods... More vertical storage Over the top - organized towels!! More baking dishes and wraps as well - wish I made this one a 4 stack but didn't want to have too many wierd lines My bread machine drawer - it now houses my Vitamix attachments as well. I also have a container drawer - love having the plastic in drawers so no more avalanches!! My "jig saw" drawer - these are bins by Made Smart and I literally sat at BBB and put them together to figure out what worked - I have modified a few of the bins - they probably think I am nuts - I keep taking things back and getting different ones.
