Identify a writing desk

Hello,

I just purchased a writing desk and was hoping the poll the audience for a little more information.

I know very little about the piece other than it's mostly assembled via tongue and groove. The only identifying marks are on the drawers - "AJ" and "PJ" The top has a leather inlay. The drawer hardware has been replaced (given the modern day screws). See pics below...

Any information would be greatly appreciated!

A couple of buffet lamps would be very nice (and good for working without shadows) -- perhaps a old globe? An old silver mug for pen or pencils? IF possible -- try to corral the necessary wires etc. to create a nicer view underneath. Perhaps stack a couple of lidded baskets under it to hold desk items?

If I'd had it in my shop 15 - 20 years ago, it would have been snapped up immediately as A/C was very popular with my clientele. We downsized 14 years ago, it's a very difficult thing to do. We sold a lot with the house (all antiques in a Victorian home) but still brought a lot with us. Good luck!

It does not appear to be doable since the desk is supported by that shelving I would keep shopping since IMO that space for sitting is very small
