I've made a dumb mistake-help!
Comments (16)Thanks MTO - I know you were responding to angela, just wanted to know how to support w/o the conduit on top. The rolls of remesh fit in my short-bed pickup so that's what I'm using (though maybe not all, if I don't bend them into cages) - I've been thinking about cattle or hog panel for the past year but it's just too hard to transport and is almost twice the $ per linear ft ($21 for 16 ft vs $107 for 150ft) - not to mention a ft shorter (basically 4ft instead of 5ft). Just looking for the least $ way to support it, cages supposedly can stand on their own (maybe wired together - it's windy here), but use more material, so I was thinking rebar every 10 ft to support a fence made out of the roll? Would be less $ than T posts, IF I buy 10ft rebar and cut each one in half in the parking lot LOL. I just have to bring the mesh all the way to the ground, or put something (bird netting? Poultry wire?) under it to keep out the wild turkeys, of course that adds to the cost. This has gotten OT, the OP doesn't need this big a system for her cherry tomatoes, maybe we should have been posting on the Cage or FL Weave thread! Then Jay has good explanation of his system on the High Tunnel thread too. I just don't know if 2x4s would last long exposed to the weather, T posts would be better (rebar wouldn't work in the FL weave). Thanks for the links and the pointers about the clips - I'll probably just use baling twine. Getting back to Dave's recommendation - what IS a good variety for hanging baskets?...See MoreHelp! Comments (66)I love the furniture you've picked out. It will look bright and cheery and just the feeling of the inspiration pics you've posted in your other threads...once you paint! Paint the darn room already! :) My last house had muddy mauve and no natural light (houses on three sides and a big porch on the other). As soon as I painted, it changed everything. Even my mood was better. And if you have a front porch, I suggest you paint the porch ceiling blue. It made a big difference looking out my window and seeing Martha Stewart's Porch Ceiling Blue. Almost as good as being able to see the sky. :) Let your room evolve. Don't feel like it has to be "done" right away. Take your time finding art and accessories that you love. You're doing great and you're going to have a lovely space to enjoy....See MoreHelp - Have I made a hugely expensive mistake?!
Comments (27)If your cabinets put off a yellow tone, you need to get rid of that blue first thing. Your blue is much too bright for a yellow toned cream cabinet and together, they'll look awful. I'd go with either the gorgeous blue suggested above (in the bathroom example) which has a green undertone to it, or go with a soft green, but stay away from pastel or violet blues. They clash something awful with yellow tone cream. I'm afraid you did make a mistake, and it's rather a big one (I hate painting trim...mind you, I'd do it in a heart beat in your situation, but I still hate it LOL). White and cream need to be carefully mixed if they're going to work out. The white needs to not have blue undertones (crisp white) but instead needs to lean towards the yellow or pink. Yours looks to be in the crisp blue tones of white, (think snow or iceberg). Ya just can't mix that well with yellow toned ivory or cream. It again clashes just as bad as your blue paint. It needs to be painted again, and in a color matched, but perhaps a shade or two lighter, than the cabinets, if you want a nice flow. Your mistakes aren't hugely expensive, but they are hugely visable if you leave them as is. Even going to a soft green or changing the blue won't fix it. Either the cabs need paint (I wouldn't paint a new factory finish myself) or the trim, and definately the walls!...See MoreI think I just made a big mistake.
Comments (4)You need a built in model to place in a cabinet run. They aren't cheap. You could do a separate 15" or 24" cabinet in it's place until you can afford the cooler. Or both box stores sell a 24" wine cooler than you can build in that's Chinese and not the best quality, but it it'll fill the hole and work for a couple of years. By then, maybe the budget will have recovered from bleeding money and you can pick up one of the better quality ones. 24" is more standard than 15" though, and easier to find....See Moreboxers
