Hi All,

Lost my wallet a couple of days ago at a golf club. I checked the carts, golf bags etc as soon as I realised it was lost (after playing an average nine holes), told everyone I could find there, had the golf club people recheck the carts, and drove around the course the next morning searching. It turned up tonight - a man called me to let me know he had found it in his golf cart and he had it. The money that had been inside was gone, but everything else remained - credit cards, ID AND my social security card, which I had been carrying because I couldn't remember the number. I know now why it's such a no-no. My question is (sorry I took so long getting to the point) what can I do to prevent identity theft, knowing that someone dishonest (whoever took the wallet and money from my golf bag or cart in the first place) had a good look around inside my wallet, and now may have my Social Security number, DOB, nationality, address, and credit card deets (cancelled now)? The info on the Social Security Administration website says that you can't change your SS# unless you have actual evidence of identity theft.

Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

Notify the police and get a police report. Notify all credit card companies and the 3 Credit Bureaus and they will put a alert on your information. You also might consider changing the locks on your house, even though no keys were stolen. Did you notify your banks, and other financial institutions? Be careful of any phone calls asking you to verify information. Only use the phone numbers given to you by the company listed on statements.
Do a search---identify theft---and you probably will find other ideas. Make a list, who you notified and who you talked to, when, date/time. etc.

I have a hold on all my bank cards, think I'll go ahead and cancel the cards and get new ones. I put a police report in with the local sherriff (sp.?). Locks on the house are pretty new. By all credit card companies, do you mean AmEx, Discover, Visa, Mastercard et al.? Or just mine?

In NV the tax assessor has the manufacturer, year, size, serial#, etc, since they use that for the personal property tax, or for real property tax if it has been converted from a mobile via foundation. You might also check a local area 1986 telephone book to see what brands where sold in the area at that time. Library often has these. There should be a state manufactured home department that might also help. When you bought your property there should have been a title search showing previous owners. Follow it back to 1986. Good Luck.

Reminds me of the basic H. callistophylla...part of the finlaysonii group, although there are plenty they look identical until they flower.. EPC is the code for the Epiphytica site...It was very slow loading last time I checked....link http://www.epiphytica.com/index.html

The three card companies are Equifax, Trans-Union and a third I can't recall. It might be TRW. Anybody out there?

Equifax, TransUnion and Experian are the credit reporting companies you need to notify and place a fraud alert on your account so that information from your credit report cannot be released to a third party without the credit reporting company first contacting you.
