OK so I need 10 million dollars

I was just poking around the internet and decided to visit realtor .com to see if I could find some good interior home decor pics from some of the super expensive homes. I came across a house that I totally fell for, its right up my alley. I'm not crazy about some of the furniture or the fireplaces but the rest of the style so totally me! Now all I need is ten mill to make the purchase.

Anyone got any ideas? LOL

LOL this is so funny! I meant to post this in Home Decorating not Household Finances. The question as to how to come up with ten mill was a joke.

Funny that I posted this in here by mistake.

Sorry

Oh, that's easy. Start a company and run it so poorly that it sits on the verge of bankruptcy. Then ask the government for a bailout.

"Generally, these days, when you win a million, it's a 20 year payout (at least in the contests I enter). So that's $50,000/year. Not a lot at all." Its even less than that if you are talking about "winning" a million dollars. They take the taxes right of the top and then calculate the payout. It's more like $30,000/yr. and then with inflation, in twenty years, that $30,000 won't even buy you anything of importance. Twenty years ago $30,000 could buy a person a very nice home. Today $30,000 will buy a very nice auto. Twenty years from now, you could probably by a really cool, top of the line bicycle for $30,000. The question was "If you had a million dollars what would you do?" I would deposit it in a Health Savings Account (HSA). I would feel secure knowing that I had the money deposited there for my health needs when needed. As one grows older there is going to be more and more medical problems. Even a million dollars does not go very far with hospital bills. Here is a link that might be useful: Health Savings Account

There's a manufactured home park in Florida where the price of admission is a million dollars. They're very nice homes. A number of owners are those that own million dollar motor coaches that travel the country and want a place to stay in Florida.

I hate that Nathan isn't a main character anymore, but he's still on there a lot as Mary's buddy. I do like how they have edited it a bit differently this year. Rather than thinking they need to give each decorator the same amount of time on each episode, they go a bit more in-depth with 2 or 3 of them. I think there was one episode that had no Kathryn at all, but gave a better view of what the others were doing.

Nah - black thumb's company wouldn't be big enough ...

... it's the big guys, who'll put manifold thousands out of work if they go under (and who support the democratic system) who qualify.

Hey, black thumb ...

... is it a gardening business, by chance?

ole joyful

P.S. You have an eye to forking out 10 million or so ...

... and you don't like the ...

... Furniture ...

... Fireplaces?

Anyone accuse you of Foolishness?

P.S. In the light of the current, and possibly prolonged, recession ...

... to whom do you propose to sell it, when you don't need it any more?

The Boomers, who've enjoyed those big houses, now approaching retirement, won't need such biggies any more, so there may be more houses of that type than potential buyers ... and, in the light of the erosion of high-paying jobs in our area, possibly far more than potential buyers with the wherewithal.

And in the marketplace - those latter are the only ones that count!

It looks nice, butb there's no way I could keep 10,000 square feet clean. I don't want to clean five bathrooms! I have enough work with two!
