Sjogren's syndrome, anyone?

*sigh* another day, another horrible physical. So my cholesterol is WAY up, don't know why, no thyroid involvement, at least as far as I can tell, and I've probably got Sjogren's (or 'Sicca'?) He didn't do any tests, but just said I've probably got it and there's nothing to do about it except artificial tears and keep a beverage around all the time now. Great.

Since I've gotten home, I've read more, and it seems that tests might be in order. It could possibly explain other issues I've been having too. I'd like to know positively.

Anyone have any tips about living with it? I actually remember my mother having it too, but she's gone now, so I can't ask her. Did you ever get tested to confirm it?

Thanks in advance for any good insights or experiences or caveats or anything that might help. Interesting to read that it's over 1M people and women in their 40s are 9 times more likely to get it than men. I'm 50, so I'm actually a little late to this party.
