Good MONDAY afternoon Suzanne!

I had a relatively quiet weekend. We had dinner with friends on Saturday and then spent a splendid Sunday tailgating and watching the JETS play an awesome game (they lost, but the game was great).

Today I'm struggling to get my quota of water.

Good Afternoon Suzanne and Dee!

QOD - I am struggling with getting all my work done. I have decided to take Wednesday off and go visit my DD's. Wednesday happens to be my ad deadline day - so I am trying to get all of them done as well as my normal Monday and everyday craaaap. My water intake is a bit down too, but I will catch up.

I had a great weekend. We went to dinner with good friends on Friday, Saturday night we stayed in and had a great dinner on our deck. Yesterday was the best we were out on the lake all day and had a delicious picnic complete with ants LOL.

Good evening, y'all! It's been warm (up to the mid-70's) and sunny here today. I sat out in it for a few minutes this morning when dh let me off at the front door of the hospital and went to park the car. My procedure went great. Just the colonscopy, not the top end this time. All was well, no polyps or problems. YEA! Must have been all those good thoughts and prayers from my good friends. :) Marci and Jan, I'm so sorry to hear about your falls and owies. Bless your hearts. Let others pamper you until you're feeling better! Suzanne, all your photos this week have been so beautiful. The one of the pending avalanche was amazing. And, after my experience this morning, all I can say about that egg photo is "ouch" for that poor chicken that delivered the really big one! Love your photos always! Dee, thanks for checking in about Dave on FB. Still no word. I guess that things are still the same, so they don't have the heart to post right now. DH and I drove straight to Antonio's Italian restaurant from the hospital! LOL The dr. had advised a bland diet: scrambled eggs, pancakes, oatmeal. I just looked at him and said, "WHAT???" He laughed and told me to just go easy at first and to not eat the peppers in the salad when I got there. I ate about 1/4 of the salad and the shrimp & chicken florentine, then boxed up the leftovers for dinner tonight. It was definitely the thought that counted for that meal. :) I slept great last night and awoke ready to get the show on the road at 9 a.m. I got to the hospital at 10 and was in and out from the procedure at the same time I'd originally been scheduled for it. Home by 1 after lunch. No nap, but I'm sure I'll sleep well tonight. It's great to come here and see Maddie, Donna, and Marci posting, too. It's how it should be! I'll be talking to y'all more this weekend. Time for a bite to eat!

The weather was indeed perfect, albeit hot and humid for such a meeting. Saratoga is a lovely, small and old city with lovely architecture. I was right at home with the horse statues that lined the lovely main boulevard called Broadway! Saratoga as you may know is home to some very elite horse racing, amoung other things. Raeanne and I met early and perused the shops before meeting DeeMarie. I spotted Raeanne immediately at our meeting place. Her hair is done in a modern cut that kicks out in a playful way! I love the color and style Raeanne, it's so you! Her eyes are still a beautiful and brillant blue! After shopping we went to the meeting place for Dee but she wasn't there so we proceeded to the restaurant meeting place. As we were crossing the street I could see a woman waving in our general direction and I knew at once it was DeeMarie!! How wonderful that she spotted us and I felt so special that as I waved, she waved back. It was a fun exchange. So it was there at the restaurant that I meet our wonderful DeeMarie. She has the most wonderful and expressive big brown eyes and I knew at once that I had a wonderful and caring friend for life! It's amazing at how we women, and man, communicate and have become such fast friends! We shared a wonderful lunch. Okay, Dee and Raeanne did. I had the luck to order one of the worst things I have ever had and it was ironic a because everyone else had a wonderful meal before them...........figures. We shared a bottle of lovely white wine alfresco which was really good against the heat of the day! After lunch we went to our card reading................boy was that enlightening!! This woman had a great deal to tell me that was very accurate!! She is a gifted woman and I think we all came away with some new info!! Then we toured the shops of Broadway, Saragoga Springs, NY. It was fun, fun, fun but way too short a time. I had to depart by 3:30-4:00 to be back in time to feed my steeds.................I could have stayed and talked all night! I had a lovely ride home full of fond memories of my time with my sisters. Ladies and gent, we must find a way for more of us to have this meeting and connection! BJ, I am sure that Las Vegas is too far for some but we sure should try to all connect.............it's so much fun. Thank you DeeMarie and Raeanne for a very special day.

Today is an absolutely beautiful day!! Not a cloud in the sky. There is a nice breeze and the temps are in the 60s. Hard to believe that just yesterday, there was water, water and more water everywhere. I ran errands today and saw lots of remnants of the flooding. Gravel and mud on roads, water still laying in low spots, creeks running over their banks, and lots of hillsides with furrows and water still running down them. But we are supposed to have nothing but sunshine for the next 5 days, so hopefully everything will dry up. Our electricity did go out last night for 2 1/2 hours, but I curled up with some candles and some crossword puzzles and passed the time. All I had were scented candles though, and I was burning 3 different scents upstairs and DH was burning a 4th scent downstairs. The combination made a rather unique odor though and I was getting slightly nauseous by the end of the night! LOL QOD - Once. I had just graduated college and was working as a store manager in the mall (I majored in Fashion Merchandising). The district manager and I didn't see eye to eye on something and I mouthed off to her. I was subsequently let go (big surprise - lol), but maintained that it wasn't my fault. Of course, the adult in me now knows that I was completely wrong and had every right to be fired, but my pride wouldn't let me admit that then. I have been doing a program by Prevention Magazine called, Firm Up in 3 Weeks. I have walked 20 out of the last 21 days and either lifted weights or done Pilates 20 of those 21 days. I have eaten sensibly, snacked on healthy foods and even splurged occasionally on "Indulgent Treats", and I can say I never felt deprived or hungry. I slipped into a pair of jeans today without using a shoe horn and I feel great. The program was designed to be done for 3 weeks and then can be modified to fit one's needs or even repeated for another 3 weeks or as long as needed to reach one's goals. I am going to continue the sensible eating (I like having my food choices laid out for me) and will continue to walk 4-5 days a week and do weights and Pilates as often as I can so I can maintain. I loved SSing when I first started, but I just couldn't get back to basics again. I tried over and over again to get back the momentum I had when I first started SSing, but it just wasn't there. With this program, I am eating more carbs, but I am making sure they are whole grain carbs. I am eating nuts, peanut butter, honey and some sugary treats but all in moderation. The book lists hundreds of options for meals, healthy snacks and "indulgent treats" and I can always find something to eat that satisfies me. I tried to stay away from sweets while SSing, and I always ended up eating something "illegal" and going on a binge afterward. Then the whole cycle started over again and each time it was harder and harder for me to get back on the wagon. But I think I have finally found my "groove" with this program from Prevention. WOWZA, it's quiet here today. DeeMarie, welcome back. Can't wait to see your pix. Marci posted some for me while you were gone! Raeanne, I would think that right after the first of the year we should start seriously making plans. Maybe sooner? I guess I would ask Maddie to guide us here because who knows. I can't even remember the exact date! I am sending Kingfisher thoughts your way. LOL Today is my Siamese boys birthday. 12 and 10 years old. Boy time has flown. They are out in the livingroom rolling around in the catnip I got them to celebrate with. I will join them with a glass of wine shortly! I love watching them groove on catnip. I lead such an exciting life!!! The pumpkin festival in Keene, NH is this weekend. Our office carved pumpkins to spell out Equine Journal and it will be displayed on the tower at the top of Main Street about 9 tiers up. Keene is trying to break it's own world's record of 28,000 or so. This year we are going for 30,000! Check out the link below. The tower you see here is at the top of the square and is the tower our pumpkins will be on. QOD: My alarm is set for 4am Mon-Fri. and I am usually in bed by 9:30 and 10 is pushing it for me unless I have to. On weekends I try to sleep in which usually ends up being 5:30 or 6! Today I am struggling with lack of daylight and time. Just a month or so ago I could ride at 5:30am, do my chores and get to work on time. Now it's not light enough to ride in the morning and the light at the end of the day is getting shorter and shorter. Ugh...I really dislike this.

I am also struggling with staying on any WOE right now. Everyday I wake up and say to myself "I am going to be good" and then I am not so good. Not horrible just not committed!

Happy Monday!!

It has been soooo quiet around here.

I struggle with my water quota most days. Last week was a bear at work and I worked late every day and did not go to Curves, which I do enjoy. I am struggling to get my priorities in order :-)

Tonight I am going to relax and will check in more this week.

Donna, I am also cranky when I overwork and don't take time for myself, especially to exercise. This week I started out going to yogilates last night. This morning I went for a walk, tomorrow morning I walk, tomorrow evening I take 1 hour of kickboxing...the rest of the week I walk early in the mornings. As a result, I'm already feeling OK, but for the last week or two I got little exercise and I felt it last night at yogilates....very inflexible. So I was cranky and ate chips when I got home! ooops!

So here's a challenge guys and gals: Get up from the chair and walk around a bit, dance to some music, or lift some weights.

Maybe it's the kickboxing class.......everyone thinks you will kick their butts.......which you will no doubt do if everyone doesn't check in!!

It's crazy here this week. New computers, new system and all the lovely little glitches to work out before it goes smoothly.

I've missed youse guys sooo much, but between back to back shows and work, I am so far behind I think I'm first.

Thinking about our Allie today; it's hard to believe we've had our angel for 5 years...

Where is everyone???!!!

Raeanne, I am still being overworked and am still a tad cranky, OK, probably more than a tad. I am enjoying a lovely glass of wine (or 2) and it is taking the edge off :-) You know I'm bad when Curves sends me a card telling me they miss me! Dee, a I need a good butt kicking!

Suzanne, glad to see you...even though your birthday is not until November I am diligently working on your "unbirthday" gift. Stay tuned!

Good Morning Everyone!!! Hello out there???? Anybody home????

Happy first day of fall.........yes, the autumnal equinox is upon us.

Donna, enjoy that wine before you get your butt kicked. I need mine kicked too. I don't know what the He// I am waiting for!!

Hummm, I forgot that you had my name for the unbirthday thing. I forgot my birthday is coming up acutally!!

I am happy it's Friday. It's been a very busy week although not stressful which is nice. This morning at work we are all enjoying the site of a cardinal family. There are three fledgling males and two females all at the feeder. So sweet. Gathering up nurishment and strength for what is to come.

It got cold here last night nearly freezing but I still have my outdoor plants in tact.

Hi Everyone,

Boy, this board is slow lately.

QOD, Tomorrow the girls and I are getting haircuts, tomorrow afternoon I am going shopping with a friend. Sunday I hope to rest. Oh shoot, we have a family chowder Sunday and then a church social Sunday nite. No rest for this weekend.

I need a good butt kicking too. My exercise is medium but my diet stinks.

Maddie, It's good to see ya post. I was thinking of Alli this week too. She was such a sweetheart. I miss her a lot.

Okay I have 3 calendars at work telling me that tomorrow is the first day of Fall. However, they tell me that today is Native American Day and Rosh Hashanah at sundown. So whatever it is let's make it a good one.

Donna - I think when you use wine medicinally it doesn't count - so you are safe for now.

Suzanne - I had a treat this morning as well, the two baby fox were at my bird feeder scrounging around. They were very frisky on this brisk morning and so cute.

Maddie - what a tease!

I went to NYC on Wednesday and spent the afternoon and evening with my 2 DD's. We had a lot of fun, I wish I had the time to do that more often.

Jen - sounds like you have a full weekend.

QOD - I am hoping for a quick boat ride with some ladies from a shop near us on Saturday afternoon and maybe a hike on Sunday if it doesn't rain. I would welcome a weekend of doing nothing.

I got a box in the mail from Marci, but not opening until Tuesday.
Been lurking off and on (more off than on), but will try and get caught up and back on the board. Miss you all.
DD 1st Anniversary was this past Monday - can't believe it's a year already. We are having a "family" dinner tomorrow to celebrate birthday and Anniversary.
I'll check in again on Tuesday.

Yea Joanne! I was getting worried, since I mailed the package in August! Hope you have a fun weekend and we'll "see" you on Tuesday.

It's been a hectic first two weeks of school, but I think I am back in school mode. For the most part, the kids are great this year. We have lots of BOYS though. They are not bad but they are loud and rowdy. In the two M-W-F classes, we have 30 boys and 18 girls!
My back feels a little better this week. I am trying not to bend over the kids, but it is impossible in some situations. I think I need to start some exercises to strengthen my back muscles.

DS came home a few weeks ago and it was so nice to see him. DD started her last semester and found a part time job, so I have seen her since school started.

I am going to lunch with a friend today and running errands b4 and after. Other than that, I am looking forward to some quiet time this weekend. Hope everyone has a nice weekend.
