I put in the handheld for a couple of reasons, one is that the hose allows the head to be moved around and hung from other points in the shower. Example; I have a head bracket in the wall down low, my wife sometimes hangs the head on that when she's shaving her legs, etc. Or the hose allows you to easily use the head to rinse down the walls and floor of the shower. Some people use it to wash their kids or even their dogs. One thing I learned a few years ago is that handhelds are no longer the cheap leaking showerheads that I grew up with back in the 70s. Hand held heads are now the same fine quality shower heads that go on a shower arm, except they're mounted on a (ta da!) handle. The only caution I'll offer is that rain heads have a gentle flow, it's not the vigorous spray that typical shower heads provide. Some people with long hair would find rinsing shampoo from their hair to be a slow process. So don;t plan on a rain head as your "main" shower head.

"152/141/119" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EK... I am so super proud of you. SO so soso osososososooso proud. Jasmi, treat yourself. Treat yourself good. :) You've been working hard and we all need a day to appreciate our hard work. (I'm having a piece of chocolate cake that my 7 year old made all by herself tonight, with some help getting it in and out of the oven... just Betty Crocker... but her first ever "all by myself" cake!!) I thought about you on the mountain yesterday... maybe you felt your ears burning? We did 4.8 miles. It felt GOOD! And, for the first time my walking partner and I were able to sprint-walk-sprint-walk-sprint that I heard was so good for burning calories... but we haven't been able to do for lack of energy :) Betty, what Jasmi said was true. I hope you are motivated by your 10lb (out of the gate loss) and that helps jump-start your feeling accomplished. It really did for me. Just know that your hard work will pay off and we are here for you:) And Harold, you are so RIGHT!!!!!!!!! Don't get caught up on the amount of weight because it is deceptive. I have a huge accomplishment to announce. For those who are getting caught up on weight loss rather than inches... ah hem...me! Don't do it! GUESS WHAT???????? I tried on my skinny jeans today. You know the ones? That I fit into at 120-125???? Y'all remember those jeans, right? Well... wait for it..... I got them up over my hips, around the waist, zipped and buttoned!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And then I had to take them off because I didn't want to die of asphixiation or stretch them out ;) But it happened. For a brief, lovely moment... it happened. And I weighed 140 this morning and 137 this afternoon. Same clothes, etc. So don't get caught up on the weight, as I have obviously been. Thank you all so much for your support. This has been really good for me, and I appreciate your friendship.

I kinda thought the same thing about the bust and hips and I explained to her that it wouldn't look the same on her because she hadn't gotten her womanly shape yet so I spent all day yesterday searching for a dress that she may find equally beautiful but I really didn't have a lot of luck. There were several cute little numbers on garnstudio.com but again I run into the same problem with having to resize the garment. Some designs looked simple enough that I may have been able to do something with it but I just don't know. Does anyone know where to find a dress that just as pretty for a pre-teen?

Not an old fogie here. America still uses imperial. If you buy needlework or knitting magazines that originate in the US you have to understand imperial. I do cross stitch. The measurements are nearly always given as stitches to the inch. The reason is that much of the stuff originates from countries that use imperial. There is nothing stupid about people understanding both systems. I agree that people should use metric where it applies, but it is, FGS only a system of measuring length or distance, is man made and is therefore only arbitrary and subject to change. There is nothing wrong with measuring things in hands, cubits, rods and perches, armslengths, pieces of string or whatever. The sort of people who get left behind are those who pedantically stick to one thing, be it new or old, and aren't broad minded enough to take in the whole gammut of possiblilites.
