Hello????????? Anybody out there?

Come out and tell us how your weekend was. We have to get back to the norm around here! Imagine me starting us off this week? Something's wrong!! LOL

Hi, NH Suzanne. I was just checking in. I've got so many projects in the works this year with 2 new grandbabies & 1 DDIL graduating, my DM & DF's 50th wedding anniversary that I'm doing from 1500 miles away, I have another friend who doesn't have anybody so I'm doing a blanket for her baby too. And, DS's on again/off again DGF is graduating the same weekend that DDIL is graduating only 250 miles away. We leave Thursday for Dallas & we are so excited. Dave had another heart attack on March 1. So he has had 2 now before turning 48. I'm trying to work with the VA so that they get all of this duly noted & get our paperwork done. I've done mine again, I think, as far as I can go. Dave saw a civilian doctor today that is supposed to write something for him to take to the VA & he wants him to change his medicine. Dave had a panic attack in the car while he was driving & I had to think quick to settle him down. Anyone else have to do that? Well, I'll try to get on while I'm in Dallas b/c I don't think that there will be a lot going on but who knows, we may be on the run the entire time. I haven't forgotten you. Just give me until September or so. (You know that our SIL killed himself this year as well, don't you?) DD is doing as well as can be expected. Actually, a little better & we are worried that she hasn't allowed herself to grieve yet. Patti :)

Just an early morning check in.
Patti - nice to see you posting and the synopsis of the last few months - WOW - how long will you be in Dallas?

BJ - glad you like your Birthday box - I thought you could use a little "tea" time. Note the Canadian and local teas.

Trying to get a little gardening in between trips to see my Mom. She is still hanging in there and we are having a Mothers Day event at the Nursing Home - About 8 of us will go for that.

Hi All, I have been away from you all for so long, I don't even know where to begin. This past weeks weather has been unbelievable. It seems that every part of the country has had their cross to bear and now this is ours. School was cancelled on Monday due to flooding and there are some towns around us that still have not gone back. Some of you may have seen Peabody, Mass on the news alot. That is the town right next to us. Those poor people really got hit hard. I live on a pond, so we were sweating it for a while, but fortunately it did not flood. We had some water in our basement, but had 2 sump pumps running and it did keep up with it. I feel very, very fortunate. Our problems were just a nuisance, there are families that can't even get back into their homes. Nothing like this has ever happened in this area. It is very surreal. Certain streets in Salem look like a war zone. The city has lined some of the streets with dumpsters so people can toss their stuff. Everything is full of mud and trash. It is so hard to believe that this is my town. And ..... Dunkin Donuts is still closed!! They were completetly flooded with rain water and sewerage. Nice huh? I think I'll be going to a different Dunkies for a while. LOL John those pictures were unbelievable. There are many areas here that look the same. My brother is a fire fighter in Pelham, NH and says everything there is a mess. Suzanne, I'm glad that you did not have to build an arc for your animals! My spare time has been consumed with finding a dress to wear to DS wedding in September. Who would have thought it would be this difficult. I am going to another bridal shop on Saturday. They are supposed to have the dress I've been searching for. I found it on line, but would like to actually see it in person before ordering. I hope this works out. It is not fun any more. I went with DS and the rest of the crew the other night to do the tuxes. My eyes welled up to see DS in his grooms clothes. He could be a model. So everyone got measured, all the bridesmaids have their dresses, Mother of the Bride ordered her dress and the brides dress is being made. So the only one that does not have anything to wear to the wedding is me! I know wah, wah, wah. The rest of my time has been attending DS #2, Lacrosse games. The season is over next week, and I am finally understanding the game a little bit. What a violent sport! Ofcourse DS loves it and plays goalie, so my palms are sweating every game. I hope everyone is doing well. I'm sorry that I don't really know what is going on here, but I think of you all so often. I will try to get back up to speed and keep up. Love, Besh

Looks like we're all having a busy weekend! I'm happy to report my weight is shifting down - I've recovered from last weekend's visit with my pal and all that food. I've moved from 145 to 143/142ish. Quite happy with that. Slow and steady is my goal. I will stop losing when my body tells me to. I'm focusing on proper portions and healthier food choices. I figure I will settle on a weight when my food balances with my body. Anything around 130-135 is my goal to maintain. Anything lower than 128 I have to be careful because that is a teenager weight and not healthy for me at this age. Too easy to get sick and have little to help me recover from. Besides, I don't do 'thin' - I'm a curvy build and thin looks awful on me. Got there once in the military and everyone told me I looked gaunt. If I were born to be tall fine, but I'm not. My goal is to be able to garden without back spasms and be able to jolt up a couple of flights of stairs without losing my breath. Maintaining a healthy weight is the biggest challenge, not the weight loss. So I plan to be here for some time to come. We're off to the in-laws this weekend. DH's brother is moving back out west after a year of unsuccessfully seeking work in mapping. He's been working 'online' from his original job out west but since nothing has happened in this area he's moving back. He's been living in his parents basement for all this time - not funny. Time to go. I'll miss him but glad we had the time to know him better. Also going to drive a wee bit down a county road tomorrow to practice my driving. Looking forward to that too. I don't do highways because I am not comfortable making turns at higher speeds yet. Take care, I will try to get online this weekend. Cheers, Peggy

I'm back....from San Diego, Trade Show He&& and just a generally busy life! QOD: If I am being good...almonds and if I am out of control and really stressed...something sweet...I LOVE Peanut M & M's and I cannot buy them or I WILL eat them.. I had a wonderful time in San Diego with my oldest DS. He is every mothers dream...I am truely blessed with my kids. I haven't had a real vacation in sometime so this was awesome. My laptop crashed right before I left and I had to send it back to Apple. It was probably a good thing because then I couldn't work. I checked email once a day and had my cell if anyone needed me. We ate out ( Mexican ( SANGRIA) Sushi, Steaks), relaxed, and my son took me shopping at Nordstrom. He said ' mom you have bought me so much in my life that it is my turn to treat you'. THREE PAIRS OF SHOES LATER....LOLOL.. I love his girlfriend and I think that they will get married in the next two years. I would be thrilled to be her MIL. She and I get along really well. I was wearing a new pair of Dr. Scholl sandals and after walking all day..I took them off and there was a huge blister. She said ' you are not wearing those anymore today' and promptly gave me her flip flops to wear. She wore the Dr. Scholls. Remember those and how cool they were...forget that...I am getting rid of them. I came back to bedlam at the office. We had to get ready for a trade show that went on this week. I am so tired and I think my cheeks are in a permanant smile. The trade show we were at is called Mac Design. Our booth was crowded the whole time. I think that we will have a good response from the show. I had several companies that wanted to have us use their products. People kept telling us what a great booth we had. If I get pictures I will send them to Marci to put up on the site.. I have also been busy with softball and my DD. I think I told you all that she is playing Varsity ball. Her team is has won regionals which has never happened at her school. We are now in the sectionals. It is so exciting to watch how these girls play. I don't think I have any nails left. Our next game is on Saturday. Raeanne: As far as I know...I will be in town. I don't think we are going to CA for that wedding. Email me further info...hotels and times at such! I so want to me you. MY DD will be playing in a softball tournament that whole weekend so my hours will be varied but if there is a will there is a way and I have to eat sometime and I would love to share a 'drink' with you! Marci: I haven't bought the newest book...But I will this weekend. I have had no time to do much...I think I told you that I loved the one you sent me. It was a great story. Also Marci, there is NOTHING better than a pedicure in my world. Your feet will be in heaven. Besh: Thank you over and over for recommending Jodi Picoult. I know Marci and I have throughly enjoyed her books. She really gets you caught up in the story. My mom is now hooked on her too. BJ: When do you leave and who is taking care of your house while you are gone? NHSuzanne: I read about your riding the Tennesee Walker. DOn't you just love that ride? Could the ride be any smoother? My neighbor in CA had two of those and we had a great time riding those together. The horse never break and just keep walking at a very fast pace. I loved riding them. Dee Marie: You are so awesome and have amazing willpower. 22LBS...:::clap clap clap:::: Maddie: Hello??? come back and share your trip with us. Amy: So glad you have a keyboard again. Suzanne - thanks for getting us started.

Patti - Your plate is full! WOW, you have so much going on around you, I'm glad that much of it is happy events. I feel for Dave and his panic attack. I have heard that you can try counting backwards from 1000 by 3's during a panic attack or wear a rubber band around your wrist and snap it. It is suppose to divert your attention away. Please take care of yourself during all this.

Jen - I can't believe that Erica is graduating - I'm sure this will be a kodak moment.

It's my day off, but I have a ton of things that need attending to. Have a great day!

Hi all!

Patti--I'm so green that you're going to Dallas! I have been to TX since 03, and I am having itchy fingers to hug my godsons!

Jen--WOW! The time has flown! I can't belive she is getting so big!

Well, BJ and I never got to meet up, and I'm so disappointed! However, I know she is in to see her family, and very busy, but I would have loved to have seen her! Well, maybe third time (next year) is charm!

Raeanne, no, no Derby hat this year. I started a great one, and ran out of time. I did see some great ones though, and I just wonder at a $1K hat. (Seriously--it was in the paper.)

We're getting ready to leave for Canada late on the 15th. BIL will be staying here to take care of the cats, and keep an eye on things. I can hardly wait! ZIG! I hope we can stop by on the way home--I'll email you with deatils!

Things are the same here--still looking, but not as hard--I won't be avaliable until mid-june, so, I've kinda suspended the hunt.

Where in Canada are you headed?

Raining here today, but we can sure use it. Found a racoon under my deck last night. Not sure who was more surprized. DH will be taking her to a new home asap.

Jen - I actually use to landscape for a living many years ago. Have just completed my daughters new home and have another one around the corner that I'm working on too. Just a hobby now though. I specialize in perennial gardens, but also love woodland gardens too.

That's it for today, have my sorority chapter here for a meeting tonight, so a little cleaning must get done.

With proms, graduations and open houses it has been a really busy time here at work. I hate wishing my life away but I will be glad to see the end of June, when things slow down a little.

Hope everyone finds a little time to check in even if it's just to say "hi"

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY EVERYONE!

Hello everyone, I'm back from my cruise (wonderful time in Bermuda!) but blew out my left (and only GOOD!) knee. Was in the ER for most of the afternoon yesterday. Thank godness there is no damage to bone, but I need to see a doc asap this week to determine what can be done about possible cartilge or tendon damage.

Patti, hope your week has gotten better.

Joanne, I'm thinking about you and praying for you and your mom this special day.

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms/stepmoms/pet moms/aunt moms/friend moms! If you've ever felt nurturing toward anyone or anything, you're a mom!

Besh, I've been hearing stories about the water rising in Salem. I hope you're safe and dry.

NHSuzanne, I hope you're doing fine where you are also.

I've been missing in action because school has been overwhelming. The first was spent doing assessments for conferences this past week. Next week and the week after should be as normal as could be possible, so it should be easier, I hope!

Happy Mother's Day! I had a very nice day with my MIL and my Mom. Both kids called, hubby did the dishes and I have leftovers to last for the next three days.

This week is my last full week of classes. Then I have two graduations and one end of year party next week and I am done!! I have my to-do list all ready and I am psyched for some R&R.
