Marici, I love those cute gifs! I'm also glad it's not Easter weekend; I just do NOT have the time. LOL

Suzanne, glad you are taking in all that wonderful H2O!!! Stay off the caffeine and relax with a cup of decaf. Things will work out for you.

Please hold some positive thoughts for my DH and family. His uncle passed away yesterday. The man was remarkable to say the least. He has been crippled with Lou Gehrigs (sp?) disease for over 20 years; living the same way as Christopher Reeve. However, there has not been a time when I have not seen him smile, or beg to have a baby put on his lap, or inquire about someone else's health. He was always one of the first to accept an invitation---anywhere. We always remembered to have electricity for Uncle Steve's chair. In the end, it was a cancerous tumor that took his life---ironic, because the doctors were so amazed that he lived so long. His wife took such good care of him (at home!) for all those years; never even a bedsore! An amazing family and I will miss him and the inspiration he gave me and DH. So instead of being sad (as I was last night), I've decided to celebrate his life by sharing his life with all of you! A hard-working, compassionate wife, three successful children, four lovely grandchildren, and a legacy that life is what you make it!!!!!

Good Sunday Morning~~~weeeelllllllll, it's STILL morning in my part of the world! I had a really fun small dinner party last night with some friends---YES, I do have some friends-lol. They brought over the most delicious Greek tomato soup: ingreds included tomatoes (duh!), sweet potato, onion, chicken broth, and a buncha other yum stuff. I'm getting the recipe, but man, oh, man, it was SO good! They also brought Greek salad--she's from Greece, can you tell? Anyway, my contribution was marinated lamb shish-ka-Billy-Bobs (my own style!) with olive oil, pressed garlic, Emeril's meat seasoning, Zahatar (a spice from Israel I use frequently---VERY good!), then threaded cherry tomato, sweet malasian onion, and red sweet pepper chunks and then ovenized them at 350 for about 12-15 minutes. I served it with homeade tzatziki sauce. It turned out really nicely! For dessert, I had strained vanilla yogurt with Oregon bing cherries with Baklava my teens and I made. The guests ate the Baklava and sneaked into the kitchen and ate some more! Anyway, I just love when people appreciate food---it makes it so much more fun! We had a little champagne and a Chianti or so. We hadn't seen them in so long--about a month and a half!; it was a real celebration! I didn't do too much damage, as I kept my portions small and ate very slowly. Amy- I HAVE A DIGITAL VIDEO CAMERA and I will tape EVERYTHING! (Veiled threat to all attending.) I'm glad you are enjoying the Perfect Man. For those who haven't seen him, he is a GQ-looking guy with a WHITE smile, carrying a rose, who says stuff like, "Thinking of you is the best part of my WHOLE day!", "You're perfect just the way you are; I wouldn't change one thing.", " Darling, take just as long as you want to get ready. I don't mind waiting one bit.", "I don't need sports to make me feel complete; just you by my side to love.", "This evening, let's just lie in bed and talk all night.", plus some other nuggets! The voice sounds like Casey Kasem. He's a cutie! Too bad about "Far Cry"--sounds bad. I've got one for you---Virtual Emeril----you run a restaurant, have to install a dishwasher, hire kitchen staff, figure budgets, deal with customers; I AM NOT MAKING THIS UP!!!!! I am sending the article on it to JOHN! DeeMarie: I'm dying to know what the Italian occasion was----SPILL! How many points did it cost ya? Did you use all your your flex points? Maddie!!!!!!! 10 pounds!!! OMG, girl! That's terrific! Are you doing a jazzy little jig about that? I would be! I won't recognize you in May if you keep on at that rate! Pilates tapes are at Target for 19.99, if you want to learn the moves before class....How did jury duty go???? Good luck on your office party---maybe invite everyone and put a funny legal disclaimer on the invite! How was the comedy show the other night? BTW, I just TOLD my DH about the stories about the engagement chicken and he started talking about a 10th year aniversary diamond, so WHOA! Does it work? Do bears like berries?????!!!!!!! What would happen if I actually COOKED it for him? LOL!!!!! NHSuzanne~ I'd go anywhere to meet you guys, but the state of Kentucky is a barrel of fun for girl parties! And throw in a horse farm tour! Raeanne: It hurt my feet to read your post! But it sounds like you had a great time. Now, GO SOAK! I have a lot of laundry to finish today. All my ironing is done though! I love to iron; so relaxing. My mom used to let me iron, beginning at age 5, and I remember I would starch the hell-k out of my dad's shorts and handkerchiefs! My mom must have had a beef with him when she let me do that. I'd use about a whole can of spray starch on his laundry! Patti! So glad to hear a ray of sunshine in the image of American Legion has come your way---it's about flippin' time you caught a beak. I'm am concentrating on a positive outcome here----three cheers are coming your way! (((((HUGS)))))) And good luck on your liver tests; stay calm and balanced. Has Dave been tested for auditory dyslexia? My friend's kid had it--he misinterpreted what everyone said to him. We thought he was doing it on purpose, but he wasn't. Besh: The tourist-in-your-own-town game is so much fun. I'm always amazed at what an area has to offer when I start looking! A heartwarming story...thanks for the link. It always amazes me that people can get in - with their kids! -a barely seaworthy vessel and set out on a journey to who-know-where. Courage and bravery come to mind---but also the chance of sacrificing your family. It takes a wild thought process to come to the decision to risk it all and take off. The whole experience for the students must have been mind blowing. It changes one's outlook on life and what's really important. On Saturday, I hope to spend most of the day outside, connecting with nature in the garden. If I get it pruned, weeded, and swept, I may reward myself in the next couple of weeks by buying a cool plant or two at the nursery. Sunday, I'm going to help a teacher build a set for the kindergarten St. Pat's Day play. That should take but a couple of hours, so maybe I'll take the kids to the beach! It's lovely weather here. I decided I'm not freaking out about the chores this weekend...can you tell it's the end of the end of the quarter for me? One more paper due and I'm off for a week on the COLD east coast! *********What's important to YOU this weekend?********** Check in before you check out for the weekend!

I'm here too, but mired in laundry and flyers for two mailings that I am labeling for my sister. I tried Pilates for the first time last week and I like it a lot. Now that isn't saying that I am good at it, but I feel like I can improve with time and I definitely think I will see a difference in my muscle tone. I am still going to Curves 3 times a week and walking 2 miles whenever I get the chance. I feel in control of my exercise and for the most part, I feel in control of my eating. I had to get weighed when I went for my checkup a few weeks ago and I wasn't happy with the number on the scale. But I do have to remember that I have gained muscle from Curves and muscle weighs more than fat. But from the way my clothes fit, I was surprised that the number on the scale wasn't lower. I guess that just proves that the scale isn't always the best measure of success. Mentally I felt exhaused last week. Too many phone calls and events that upset me and I couldn't shake that uneasy feeling that life was spiraling out of control. But this is a new week and I am hoping life doesn't hold any more surprises (at least unpleasant surprises) for me this week. I only have to work 3 days and then I get 5 days off. April is full of fun activities at school (field trips, ventriloquist, pony rides, etc.). I think April will fly and that means that summer will be here before I know it. Jen - I am glad the doctor's have found the reason for Erica's continued illnesses. Used to be every one got their tonsils out. But I think doctor's are more cautious these days. We are dealing with the Rota virus at preschool right now. Last week we only had 6 kids in our T-TH afternoon class. The 6 girls had a blast. We relaxed the rules a bit and let them play longer, choose whatever table they wanted to sit at and they got 2 snacks instead of one. But I am hoping everyone is healthy and ready to return on Tuesday, since that is their Easter party. DeeMarie - I don't know if I offered congratulations on your success with WW. WooHoo!!!!! I can feel your excitement and determination coming right through the computer screen! Keep up the good work. NHSuzanne - I am tired just thinking of hefting 100 bales of hay! I walked 2 miles today and did 20 minutes of Pilates then had to sit down and rest! Hope you are learning lots at your class today. BJ - When are you getting that computer fixed?? We miss you. Besh - We haven't heard much from you lately. Read any good books lately? Gretchen - What is the news on the sale of the company. Have you worked out the financial details yet? Raeanne - Pictures! We want pictures of your latest vacation for the album. Amy - Do you want me to include Heather's picture in the SS album? She is a fine looking cat. Speaking of the album, I was fooling around with my new scanner and I added a few new pictures to the album. Patti - I am stilling wondering where you are. Did you get my last email about scanning the photos? Joanne - Check in and let us know how you are feeling. SusieQ - We haven't heard from you in awhile. How was your DD's recital. If you have pictures you want in the SS album, let me know. Just sent me an email by clicking on My Page. Maddie - I loved the sound of your new "do". My stylist wanted me to consider highlights the last time I was there. But I have never colored my hair and I told her I had to think about it. She said that what she had in mind would be subtle and would grow out if I didn't want to continue. So I am thinking of trying it for the summer. Chris - How is tax season going? Rabbit Rabbit - one day I will be the first! Happy August, can you believe it?? Happy Birthday John - hope it was fabulous! Check in, we miss you!! QOD #1: I am the biggest klutz you will ever meet. I am always sporting large and strange bruises that I have no idea where they came from. I can trip over absolutely nothing. QOD: Going in to work to try and catch up, it's been totally crazy and I am overwhelmed and behind. I hate both of those feelings. Raeanne, I am so thrilled about your artwork. I can't wait to see the pictures when Marci posts them. We had some very fierce rip tides a week or two back, many people at the beach in distress. So many don't understand and respect that ocean. Suzanne, glad you are out of your funk. I'm glad you remembered Raeanne's words - they are great. I offered no help at all did I? I hate feeling that way. I will check out that polenta recipe, I love polenta. Dee, it's tough cleaning out your childhood home. It was different than your circumstances but when my parents moved 8 years ago I had to help them do it and it was difficult. ((Hugs)) I thought that stupid separating recycling was Jersey thing too. Enjoy the shore - we locals know those who aren't because they always refer to it as the "shore" which we never do :-) A guy from PA that I dated moved to NJ and asked me how he could not be identified as a "shoobie." I told him for starters stop calling the beach and the area the shore. Seriously, have a great time, I think most of the weekend is supposed to be nice. Peg, enjoy your long weekend. My American calendar only tells me it's a Canadian civic holiday - is there more to it? You are a good person to help out your friend, I know he appreciates it. A co-worker today gave me a humungous zucchini - any suggestions on how to prepare it? I adore zucchini but am interested in something different...any and all suggestions welcome! I want to have it tomorrow night, we are grilling a gorgeous steak. Milkdud, you are doing so well with your weight and your working out, I admire you. NH Suzanne - Don't hyperventilate LOL. A ride on SP this weekend will de-stress you! I think that should be Dr.'s orders for you.

I gotta go, had some computer training this AM (my day off) and now I have a much overdue manicure - the girl is going to LOL when she gets a look at my hands.

I have to pack tonight, because tomorrow will be a busy day for me.

Raeanne, I will try to take your advice doc LOL but it ain't going to be easy. My day has been filled with rejections that I won't recognize yes when I hear it! It's been a strange month for eveyone here so I don't feel totally alone. It's hard to predict why. I hope you have a marvelous time. You certainly are getting around these days.

Hi Everyone: Wow, thought I'd slept through Easter when I checked in.

Wow, so much happening in everyone's lives - trips, business's to buy - exciting times.

No news here, same old, same old. This is when I'm glad I don't own a gun, DH is driving me insane. Either the weather needs to break so he can golf, or he really has to find a job soon, or I'm sending him to my brother in Florida.

Going to my second funeral in 10 days. Seems all my old school friends Mom's are passing on. They are all in the 80-85 year bracket and it does seem to go in waves.

Terrible way to keep in touch with old friends.

Gotta run to a meeting. Tonight and tomorrow, DH and I will be busy with wakes and funeral.

I am here Maddie. I have no idea where everyone has been. Seems strange not to hear from anyone over the weekend!

I was enjoying the spring weather with Sweet Pea yesterday and boy does she have spring fever!! Her trot had a few little bucks in them as if to say WOO HOO!!!

I'm here, but I am mired in taxes!! I spent the day yesterday researching and buying a new printer and today I am doing my taxes. State is done, local is done and I am taking a break from Federal.

It is beautiful here today. I DON'T want to be indoors doing paper work all day, but I needed a break. If I can get done before lunch, I will have the rest of the day to play. (After I finish laundry, pay bills and straighten up! LOL)

I bought a Winsor Pilates tape and mat yesterday. I have been having back aches lately and someone at Curves suggested Pilates. I know my aches are from bending over little ones all day. Some days I feel like I just can't straighten up. I am hoping that Pilates helps.

My new printer is a MFP - a scanner, a copier and a printer all in one. I printed out some pictures I had taken on my digital camera and they came out great. I needed to make a copy of a receipt for a rebate and voila - I had a copy. I have to play around with scanning photos now and see how that works. I think I got a great deal for my $$$.

(((HUGS))) for all those that need them. I know I missed some important events last week, but I just don't know where the time went. I was never so glad to see Friday come. The kids were wound up, we had a sub all week for Beth and I just didn't feel up to par. I am hoping that this week gets off to a better start.

I think we all should have gone with Raeanne to Cancun!!! I could use some R&R.

Now I have to hang up a load of laundry and locate some papers for taxes.

Happy Sunday everyone!

Yesterday, we were at the funeral and repast, so I had no time to even check my e;mails.

Hope everyone is ready for Monday! I'm enjoying some sun here in 'Jersey. We finally got to take down the holiday lights off the house! Most of the neighbors were outside doing the same thing...it's finally warm enough for DH to get up on the roof!

Amy, good to see you post.

BJ, hope you are with us again soon!

Maddie, take a nap! :-)

Raeanne, hope you are enjoying the first of many cool drinks by the water while I'm writing this. LOL
Wish me luck...DH agreed to speak with the house painter I called. He's coming tomorrow evening...I think he's gonna agree to have it done professionally. That's not all...I'm on the computer to find the phone number of a landscaper that our neighbor just gave us. DH is biting the bullet and farming this chore out also. Happy days!!!!
