Hey All,

We got back from Cancun last Wednesday. It was great, but I got off my diet. Now, I am back on track and need to lose the 2 pounds I gained.

Rabbit! Rabbit! I always forget! Suzanne, I second BJ's request. We wanna hear! I hope that everyone is having a wonderful weekend. I know that I am. I went to lunch with a friend from another forum on Friday. ( That was FUN!!) and to dinner with another friend last night. So far today I've been to church and am going to sit down and watch the Dodger game with DS. Then, off to a movie in the late afternoon. I have been "good carbing" it without a hitch for 2 weeks now. I have been making a lot of the recipes from the Good Carb cookbook that DeeMarie gave me for Christmas.I have discovered that bringing sunflower seeds to the movies keeps me away from the butter soaked popcorn and I do not feel deprived : ) This looks to be another busy week. I am hoping for better time management on my part. It is so easy to get distracted when you are working from home. I better learn, as in September, I will be making a lot of Home Nursing visits and time efficiency will become imperative! "See you" all tomorrow! QOD: Youngest DD went to a friend's house to spend the night. 2nd youngest DD had a summer slumber party here-I don't know why they call it that; no one sleeps and she has a party to go to today! 15 y.o DD was out last night with 18 y.o. BF - he now has his own apartment whcih she likes to visit. She starts pilot ground school today 8-6 for the next few Saturdays and Sundays. Oldest DD got a job running projectors at the local movie house, so she was working the last couple nights till 3 a.m. w/ the "Pirates" openings? I haven't yet. Me, I'm walking dogs, watering lawns, studying philosophy, ethics, and moral obligations, topped off with a load of meteorology and LOTS of laundry and weeding! I am going to spend an hour in my office as well--cleaning! DH is taking the bar study course 24/7, so things are running smoothly around here, really. GOOD LUCK, ERICA!!! Pictures, please! You are our "SS Daily Queen" mascot EVERY DAY! Zig~ Hope the funeral was okay for you. Those things are tough, but bring people together---and that's a good thing. Dee- Good to hear you're continuing the walking, but sorry about the pain of all. Syill thinking of your co-worker and her DH... Donna~ Did you get to go out to dinner? Raeanne: The questions on the body shape quiz didn't give many options for answers. I was an hourglass too, but have never thought of myself this way---I really think I have a boy's shape, sort of squarish w/ large shoulders. I was wondering how much stock to put in that quiz. Work-outs with enough weight to cause a fair amount of resistance is a great way to prevent bone disease and just plain be healthier---so I'm foregoing the femmy looks for that. Besides, as I get older, I sort of want to look like I can kick some @ss---lol!!! As well, I have really enjoyed increasing the weight at the gym from time to time--POWER! John-cats yet? Besh-CONGRATS on the 2.6 at WW Friday!!!!!!!!! I read about you unpacking your canvas bags and had to laugh---I have the same deal after an outting! Sounds like your weekend is FULLLLLLLLL! Be good! Milkdud~ What kind of swimming do you do? I've been hitting the pool for low key water walking twice a week. It's just a nice way for me to mellow out really. Maddie! Let us know how the Tedster's concert is. We are going to see Kenny Loggins in August at Saint Michelle Winery--1/2 hour from our house--so beautiful out there. Hi all, I come by and check but don't read everything. I see Marci and Dee said hi, and maybe others have, too. My family's left. I don't know if I mentioned it, but they were successful in their attempt to set up swimming with the dolphins. I couldn't go to that, but did get to swim in the ocean. That's not something I can ordinarily do because of my illness and disabilities. I tried to post a couple of days ago, but everything that came out sounded upset and I didn't want to scare anyone. :) I've been ill the last few days. I talked to my doctor and she said it sounds like viral meningitis. That's the mild kind, not the kind that can leave a person brain damaged or dead, so its nothing to worry about, just uncomfortable - who needs more pain and fatigue. I might go in to her office tomorrow. Tropical Storm Celia went by here yesterday. She was a hurricane a few days ago, but diminished. There was thunder and lightning and heavy rain and winds, but nothing too damaging. Just enough excitement but not too much. I've got into anime for reasons I won't go into. I ordered Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz. Has anyone here seen it? Does anyone know or remember the song by Don McLean, "Chain Lightning?" I've always liked that song. Very dramatic. My internet relationship, which I talked about earlier, is still going strong - seven months now. I said that he is very unhappy and troubled, which is still true, but he has turned out to be also very caring, intelligent, and sweet. I hope we can continue to be friends for a long time, and I hope his situation improves for him. I've been reading about the get together next year. Remember, I'd like a video. :) I know that it will be a blast. It's nice to come here and have this group. You are such a loving bunch where all are welcome. There have been so many ups and downs, but people are always supportive and caring. Love to you, thanks for remembering me, and I hope everyone has a good day. I'm not spending as much time here as I was, which may change (who knows) but I won't get lost. It's been so frustrating to me when others that I care about quit posting and then I never know how they are doing. Also I've asked my son to let people here know if anything happens to me so that everyone won't be wondering. He knows how important this group has been to me. Amy

Good Friday morning! Raeanne, bon voyage. I am so glad you got that package in time LOL! Have fun. John, see the effect you have on women! Sounds like you were the perfect gentleman. Good luck sleuthing, I mean babysitting! Hopefully they pay more for babysitting than .50 an hour that I was paid years ago. LOL Maddie, I am still trying to figure out how I can pull NYC off in December. I am in on the exchange too. Besh, have you given any thought to NYC? Good job on Dee's package BJ! Have fun at your planning party tonight. Planning is the key. Dee, enjoy all those lovely gifts! What a fun package to receive. Speaking of planning I have my carriage club's planning meeting tomorrow night. This is where we plan all the events for 2008. It's a pot luck (ugh) but I plan on being prepared for good eating with what I bring. I have to get a photo of this but will share so you can imagine what I am seeing: About 2 miles from my house is a lovely farm with big fields on both sides of the road and a lovely antique colonial home. The fields host flocks of sheep all summer and fall. On my way home Halloween evening someone had delivered to both fields huge piles of pumpkins for the sheep to eat. So I am driving along taking this all in. The sheep, some with black faces, eating from these huge piles of pumpkin, the setting sun filtering through the trees giving off this warm cast of oranges and golds through the leaves and a old man (presumably grandfather) standing next to this tow headed boy who is petting one of the sheep through the fence. It was all too beautiful. I will try to get a photo of the sheep and pumpkins but I doubt I the camera will ever be able to capture what is in my mind's eye. I hope you can imagine it.

Hey there, I'm here!

Nothing exciting with my weekend. Got all our tax stuff together for our meeting with the accountant this evening.

DH asked me to help him in the basement on Saturday "for half an hour". OK, 2 hours later we have some new shelving and a bit more de-cluttered. He's a tiny-steps kinda guy. Takes after his mom in some ways. DMIL read the latest "Readers' Digest" about the hoarding disease syndrome. She said "that's like me, but THOSE people are sick!" Clueless!! that's also part of OCD, I guess.

Gotta run to a meeting.

Nothing big to report here either. Had a family party on Sunday and now I am up to my eyeballs in work! (I am loving every minute of it too!)Best thing I ever did for myself was to become a private contractor for home health.

DeeMarie, My DH was always piling things up and I was always throwing them away. One Christmas eve after a party at our home, I threw out a plie of what looked like junk mail into a dumpster. Turns out DHs Christmas bonus check was in that pile of carp! We spent an hour "dumpster diving" by flahlight. Oh holy night indeed! : )

Raeanne, that was Tikanas' party, but WHEW---glad you found that check Tikanas!

Last evening we went to our accountant and discovered that we have some $$$ coming back, even after paying some of DH's 2007 estimated tax. He spent the ride home deciding how to spend it. Silly man.....he still doesn't understand women. I told him not to hightail it out to Circuit City just yet! LOL!!!!!!

Happy THURSDAY!

After almost an hour of a boring overseas teleconference, I promptly lost the resource and planning spreadsheet I was working on. grrrrrr... Thank goodness it was only one therapeutic area and I know that the gal I was speaking with has notes to help me recreate it, but it puts me behind a day. She is 5 hours ahead, so I should have her answers tomorrow morning by the time I get in. sheeesh

Jen/Tikanas, I wish that I still loved my job the way you both do. It gets tedious at times, but the $$ is good, the benefits are over-the-top terrific, and most of the people are lots of fun. Put that together with 55 vacation days this year, and I guess I'm doing OK!

As for the spa thing, I actually have a gift certificate from my eldest stepdaughter that expires in May. It's manicure/pedicure/facial. I will take a day off soon to use that! :0)

Suzanne, I do not envy that snow you are getting.

Jen, keep safe with those awful storms.

We are heading for lots of rain over the next 36 hours, with the accompanying floods. Tomorrow morning I will have to make sure to watch weather and traffic so I can manuver my way to the office while avoiding the water.

TGIF!!!!!!!!!

Just needed to schedule an appointment with that root canal guy who worked on me in Dec/Jan. I lost the filling and have the familiar 'throbbing' that we all know and love with regards to teeth. Does the fun ever end? LOL My only consulation is that by this time tomorrow, I probably will be pain-free.

Donna, the spa is up here in my neck of the woods. I still have not forgotten about getting together with you. Will need to know your schedule this spring, so we can plan a lunch together. Maybe you can come up this way and we can both head up north to meet with Raeanne and Suzanne. We had a great time together!

Gotta run and get some reports completed before I head out to get myself fixed.

QOD: What's going on this weekend?

DH is going to a fishing show in New York State tonight, so I'm gonna watch chick flicks. Tomorrow I get my hair highlighted and then the rest of the weekend will be filled with laundry, cooking, and helping DH here-and-there with our bathroom project.

It is a mess up here. Started out as snow, to ice and now rain - big slipper slushy mess.

Suzanne - how did you make out - I heard most of NH got about a foot of snow.

QOD - nothing big planned - DD#2 is coming home tonight - so I see some shopping in my future. I am hoping to sneak out of work early tomorrow so we can have some fun.

Dee - I went to the dentist Wednesday - thought I lost a filling but lost part of a tooth..now need build up and a crown, oh joy. You know I definitely want to meet you but I think if we could work a plan where I come up your way and we could connect with Raeanne and Suzanne that would be very cool!

I almost, just almost, feel guilty saying today was a beautiful day in South Jersey, downright spring like. Unfortunately it won't last.

QOD: Tomorrow is the 4th anniversary of by BIL death so my mom and I are taking my sister out and we are going shopping!!! She is really looking forward to it. We will also connect with parents for a dinner out. Raeanne, enjoy your shopping with DD#2.

Cancun, wow...I've always wanted to visit Cancun. The closest I ever got to the border was San Diego when I lived in Santa Monica years ago.

Seems like every time I come here, someone mentions my name :) Do I just come at opportune times, or do you really think of me that often?

How long has BJ been missing? She was missing last time I came by, too. Has she been by since then?

Does anyone watch the anime films? Has anyone watched Howl's Moving Castle? It's my favorite movie now since the first Superman with Chris Reeve.

I'm not sure if I can say I've made much progress with anything. Well, my garden is going well, and I've added zinnias, and I have butterflies that like to come and visit - nothing exotic, just monarch, swallowtails, and cabbage butterflies. I have giant african snails, too, about 5 inches long, but I don't like those so much. And I found a cane spider the size of a dinner plate - outside at least.

Well, I just wanted to say hi. I'll try to get back and read more. I know I always say that. I frequent so many forums now, it's hard to keep up, and it takes time to keep the one I have going, too.

This weekend I hope to paint and work in photoshop on a stained glass pattern for Myst Online. Myst Online has become one of my other worlds now. :) My son even sent me a book on designing virtual worlds.

Thank you for the birthday wishes. I had a very nice celebration. I left work several hours early and spent the day with DD#2. We mostly shopped and she made out like it was her birthday LOL - I did manage to get a nice pair of tiger patterned peeka-boo toe shoes (they sound tackier than they are LOL). DD#1 had flowers delivered to my office - so that was a nice surprise. DH gave me some spa treatments so I can indulge in a day of beauty. We had a lovely dinner at a favorite restaurant.

Marci - thank you for the decorations - how appropriate.

Zig - you make me feel so special.

Amy - I am honored that you should happen to pop in at my birthday - it is always good to hear from you.

Donna - thank you, I did enjoy the day even with the leftover ice and snow haha.

Sorry for all you wonderful people out there who are having the snow. I cannot and will not complain about the south florida weather in winter. (however, I do have a sweater on today)
