Hey All,

We got back from Cancun last Wednesday. It was great, but I got off my diet. Now, I am back on track and need to lose the 2 pounds I gained.

Raeanne~This is already one spoiled baby! LOL She is the first grandbaby on both sides. She is only 6 hours from her DM's DPs so they get to see her way more often & of course they have done their share of spoiling. Of course, you wouldn't know that the DGSs weren't my biological ones b/c I spoil them as much or more. There is something about it--I just cannot help myself. We are going to babysit the youngest DGS while his momma is in school. That should be fun. (You should see the packages that we are taking for Valentine's Day for all 3 & then DGS #1's b'day is on Valentine's Day. Close to DeeMarie's! Please remember my DS on the 8th. That is when she has her surgery. They are going through the front of her neck to remove a vertabra & there is a slight chance that she might not make it & a slight chance that she would not be able to speak again. Dee~Sorry that you are under the weather. That is never any fun. I'll try to get back on here tomorrow before the Super Bowl starts--if I have finished with my packing. I have most of it done but am waiting on some clothes to dry. Since we have to go to a laundromat, I don't like to have my clothes dried there & prefer to have them hung up to dry. QOD: Youngest DD went to a friend's house to spend the night. 2nd youngest DD had a summer slumber party here-I don't know why they call it that; no one sleeps and she has a party to go to today! 15 y.o DD was out last night with 18 y.o. BF - he now has his own apartment whcih she likes to visit. She starts pilot ground school today 8-6 for the next few Saturdays and Sundays. Oldest DD got a job running projectors at the local movie house, so she was working the last couple nights till 3 a.m. w/ the "Pirates" openings? I haven't yet. Me, I'm walking dogs, watering lawns, studying philosophy, ethics, and moral obligations, topped off with a load of meteorology and LOTS of laundry and weeding! I am going to spend an hour in my office as well--cleaning! DH is taking the bar study course 24/7, so things are running smoothly around here, really. GOOD LUCK, ERICA!!! Pictures, please! You are our "SS Daily Queen" mascot EVERY DAY! Zig~ Hope the funeral was okay for you. Those things are tough, but bring people together---and that's a good thing. Dee- Good to hear you're continuing the walking, but sorry about the pain of all. Syill thinking of your co-worker and her DH... Donna~ Did you get to go out to dinner? Raeanne: The questions on the body shape quiz didn't give many options for answers. I was an hourglass too, but have never thought of myself this way---I really think I have a boy's shape, sort of squarish w/ large shoulders. I was wondering how much stock to put in that quiz. Work-outs with enough weight to cause a fair amount of resistance is a great way to prevent bone disease and just plain be healthier---so I'm foregoing the femmy looks for that. Besides, as I get older, I sort of want to look like I can kick some @ss---lol!!! As well, I have really enjoyed increasing the weight at the gym from time to time--POWER! John-cats yet? Besh-CONGRATS on the 2.6 at WW Friday!!!!!!!!! I read about you unpacking your canvas bags and had to laugh---I have the same deal after an outting! Sounds like your weekend is FULLLLLLLLL! Be good! Milkdud~ What kind of swimming do you do? I've been hitting the pool for low key water walking twice a week. It's just a nice way for me to mellow out really. Maddie! Let us know how the Tedster's concert is. We are going to see Kenny Loggins in August at Saint Michelle Winery--1/2 hour from our house--so beautiful out there. Hi goils! I've only got a minute, but I just had to post this one! We're at the National Street Rod Show here in Louisville until Sunday (today was the first day). I love seeing the cars, but getting to yap with the owners is an even bigger treat, so I've had a blast all day. And then this spectacularly beautiful woman and 2 men come to our booth. The bearded one looks familar, but the woman had caught my attention, she's that breath-taking. Anyway, back to the guys; we're selling all sorts of LED belt buckles, dog tags, etc, and the display just screams. So they wandered over to see it, and ended up wiping us out of the LED items. They go to pay, and the bearded guy pulls out a pair of dice, rolls them on one of our display cases, and the guys start shooting cr@ps to see who would pay for all of the stuff. I am thinking that I know the guys, and the voice is familiar, but who the heck are they???? Billy Gibbons and Dusty Hill from ZZTop. And the stunning chick? Dusty's daughter. Well, duh! I knew I knew them, but I was so shocked that I just went brain-dead. Makes sense since ZZTop is really into street/hot rods. And there's 10,000 of them in the parking lot. So, whatta day! Makes me wonder what tomorrow will bring! :):) Oh, and a crew from The Outdoor Channel is there, and they are auditioning for a "Host-your-own-fishing-show-for-a-day", and one of the producers wants me to audition tomorrow. Maybe I don't want to know, but I'm sure as heck gonna buy a lottery ticket!!!! LOL!!! Gotta go-battery is low-- Hugs, Maddie

Marci - the first thing I thought of was Seinfeld when I read your name LOL. There may be hope for the devil child. Enjoy your weekend with DH. Donna - I like your pirate name too! Dee - I hope our guys win. Suzanne - Can't wait to hear all about your trip with SP. Lynn & Dee - I did watch some of BB8, but wasn't addicted. I understand all the uproar about Dick, but I don't get why people hated Daniele - I didn't think she was bad and she played a great game with so many wins. She was a bit whiny but I also kept in mind that she was the youngest one there. I also kept in mind that this poor girl had to grow up with him as a father - that couldn't have been an easy life for her. On the other hand I didn't like Jen or Amber at all or at least of what I saw of them. Jen was very vindictive and Amber didn't have a mind of her own and I wouldn't have been able to tolerate all the crying. Jessica also didn't have much of a mind of her own - she let Eric persuade her too easily and she hated her friend because of $5. Come to think of it I didn't really like any of the players LOL. QOD - this is a wedding event weekend for me. Friday 6:30 am workout with my trainer, work until 2PM, and then at 4PM is a boat cruise with cocktails. Saturday I work, go to the church at noon, back to work and then the reception at 4 with an after party at 10PM and Sunday a brumch. I don't think I will be doing much else.

Hey there, I'm here!

Nothing exciting with my weekend. Got all our tax stuff together for our meeting with the accountant this evening.

DH asked me to help him in the basement on Saturday "for half an hour". OK, 2 hours later we have some new shelving and a bit more de-cluttered. He's a tiny-steps kinda guy. Takes after his mom in some ways. DMIL read the latest "Readers' Digest" about the hoarding disease syndrome. She said "that's like me, but THOSE people are sick!" Clueless!! that's also part of OCD, I guess.

Gotta run to a meeting.

Nothing big to report here either. Had a family party on Sunday and now I am up to my eyeballs in work! (I am loving every minute of it too!)Best thing I ever did for myself was to become a private contractor for home health.

DeeMarie, My DH was always piling things up and I was always throwing them away. One Christmas eve after a party at our home, I threw out a plie of what looked like junk mail into a dumpster. Turns out DHs Christmas bonus check was in that pile of carp! We spent an hour "dumpster diving" by flahlight. Oh holy night indeed! : )

Raeanne, that was Tikanas' party, but WHEW---glad you found that check Tikanas!

Last evening we went to our accountant and discovered that we have some $$$ coming back, even after paying some of DH's 2007 estimated tax. He spent the ride home deciding how to spend it. Silly man.....he still doesn't understand women. I told him not to hightail it out to Circuit City just yet! LOL!!!!!!

ahhhhh, YEAH, what WAS he thinking? I was considering a total spa day for me with bags and bags and bags of like really neat girly bath stuff...DUH!!!!!!

Happy THURSDAY!

After almost an hour of a boring overseas teleconference, I promptly lost the resource and planning spreadsheet I was working on. grrrrrr... Thank goodness it was only one therapeutic area and I know that the gal I was speaking with has notes to help me recreate it, but it puts me behind a day. She is 5 hours ahead, so I should have her answers tomorrow morning by the time I get in. sheeesh

Jen/Tikanas, I wish that I still loved my job the way you both do. It gets tedious at times, but the $$ is good, the benefits are over-the-top terrific, and most of the people are lots of fun. Put that together with 55 vacation days this year, and I guess I'm doing OK!

As for the spa thing, I actually have a gift certificate from my eldest stepdaughter that expires in May. It's manicure/pedicure/facial. I will take a day off soon to use that! :0)

Suzanne, I do not envy that snow you are getting.

Jen, keep safe with those awful storms.

We are heading for lots of rain over the next 36 hours, with the accompanying floods. Tomorrow morning I will have to make sure to watch weather and traffic so I can manuver my way to the office while avoiding the water.

TGIF!!!!!!!!!

Just needed to schedule an appointment with that root canal guy who worked on me in Dec/Jan. I lost the filling and have the familiar 'throbbing' that we all know and love with regards to teeth. Does the fun ever end? LOL My only consulation is that by this time tomorrow, I probably will be pain-free.

Donna, the spa is up here in my neck of the woods. I still have not forgotten about getting together with you. Will need to know your schedule this spring, so we can plan a lunch together. Maybe you can come up this way and we can both head up north to meet with Raeanne and Suzanne. We had a great time together!

Gotta run and get some reports completed before I head out to get myself fixed.

QOD: What's going on this weekend?

DH is going to a fishing show in New York State tonight, so I'm gonna watch chick flicks. Tomorrow I get my hair highlighted and then the rest of the weekend will be filled with laundry, cooking, and helping DH here-and-there with our bathroom project.

Donna - thanks for not offering to take the ice and snow off our hands.

It is a mess up here. Started out as snow, to ice and now rain - big slipper slushy mess.

Suzanne - how did you make out - I heard most of NH got about a foot of snow.

QOD - nothing big planned - DD#2 is coming home tonight - so I see some shopping in my future. I am hoping to sneak out of work early tomorrow so we can have some fun.

Dee - I went to the dentist Wednesday - thought I lost a filling but lost part of a tooth..now need build up and a crown, oh joy. You know I definitely want to meet you but I think if we could work a plan where I come up your way and we could connect with Raeanne and Suzanne that would be very cool!

I almost, just almost, feel guilty saying today was a beautiful day in South Jersey, downright spring like. Unfortunately it won't last.

QOD: Tomorrow is the 4th anniversary of by BIL death so my mom and I are taking my sister out and we are going shopping!!! She is really looking forward to it. We will also connect with parents for a dinner out. Raeanne, enjoy your shopping with DD#2.

Cancun, wow...I've always wanted to visit Cancun. The closest I ever got to the border was San Diego when I lived in Santa Monica years ago.

Seems like every time I come here, someone mentions my name :) Do I just come at opportune times, or do you really think of me that often?

How long has BJ been missing? She was missing last time I came by, too. Has she been by since then?

Does anyone watch the anime films? Has anyone watched Howl's Moving Castle? It's my favorite movie now since the first Superman with Chris Reeve.

I'm not sure if I can say I've made much progress with anything. Well, my garden is going well, and I've added zinnias, and I have butterflies that like to come and visit - nothing exotic, just monarch, swallowtails, and cabbage butterflies. I have giant african snails, too, about 5 inches long, but I don't like those so much. And I found a cane spider the size of a dinner plate - outside at least.

Well, I just wanted to say hi. I'll try to get back and read more. I know I always say that. I frequent so many forums now, it's hard to keep up, and it takes time to keep the one I have going, too.

This weekend I hope to paint and work in photoshop on a stained glass pattern for Myst Online. Myst Online has become one of my other worlds now. :) My son even sent me a book on designing virtual worlds.

Thank you for the birthday wishes. I had a very nice celebration. I left work several hours early and spent the day with DD#2. We mostly shopped and she made out like it was her birthday LOL - I did manage to get a nice pair of tiger patterned peeka-boo toe shoes (they sound tackier than they are LOL). DD#1 had flowers delivered to my office - so that was a nice surprise. DH gave me some spa treatments so I can indulge in a day of beauty. We had a lovely dinner at a favorite restaurant.

Marci - thank you for the decorations - how appropriate.

Zig - you make me feel so special.

Amy - I am honored that you should happen to pop in at my birthday - it is always good to hear from you.

Donna - thank you, I did enjoy the day even with the leftover ice and snow haha.

Sorry for all you wonderful people out there who are having the snow. I cannot and will not complain about the south florida weather in winter. (however, I do have a sweater on today)
