:) what, you don't think that Captian Jack Sparrow used anything but natural walrus blubber, do you? what you're looking for is a 'wax' pomade. everyone makes them, nowadays- got2B, paul mitchel, LA looks... they come in tins, and do a pretty good job of it, though they can be a pest to get out. honestly- if his beard's unruly enough that you're having problems- I'd consider getting a fake one, beading that, and applying it over his shaven face ;) (but then, I can get my own hairy-scary to do things like that. then again- my hairy-scary can braid and bead his own hair ;)

I agree no veil and like the circlet of small flowers -- maybe just baby's breath? No long hair on sides and not terrifically curly, but can be made curlier. Gosh, I wish I could take pictures of the ones I've done and post them here. [I've tried photo bucket and others with no luck.] One is basically an off-white satin headband with small flowers on one side. My girls think it's too old-lady, and I guess I was thinking of MOBs and GOBs at the time, but I like it. Thanks for ideas, everyone. chery2

Directions for these are comb-MIchael's has them. 30 in.piece of wire. We used gold colored 24 gauge but could use any that you can get to wrap around. Secure it on 1 end by wrapping around & through& pull end toward front so won't damage your hair.(want back smooth! Just get beads, shells, small stones with holes in them, plastic or glass beads, & put on about 3 depends on size, I like the ends to be full as don't want to see comb & wrap it tight, if not full enough run across back & add another row in middle, go back over with 2nd row. So easy, Just wrap well at end & bring end to front so you don't damage you hair. We just made this 1 up. No pattern needed. Enjoy!! Jan

We aren't too old for bows!! Forget the ones with bunnies & such but a solid color even with a single line of trim down the middle pulls the hair out of the way & makes it neat. Lots of women all ages use hair bows out here. I wear a bun(ponytail,wrap hair around fingers run small plain barrette to hold & pin down so it looks like I don't have any hair. So if I know someone is taking pics of me or going to DMV I make sure I have a not too floppy bow in red, navy or black so when I see the pic I don't look bald. I can braid my hair but that also can break it so just easier to wear it up. It's so fine that now that its thinner the french roll slides out, I had a donut shaped mesh thing with brown covering years ago I used & wrapped my hair around that, sure wish I'd saved it. I don't like feel of scarves, baseball cap, headband etc around my head, my sun hats last about 10 min unless wind blows them off 1st. I was kid that didn't wear a hat of any kind as a kid, long acrylic scarves that were about 15-18 in. wide were worn only to keep warm & ears & nose from freezing off. Bows are comfortable & sometimes hide my wild hair!!Tho it has a mind of its own! Jan
