Less than 24 hours

My son will be released tomorrow. I am still pinching myself to believe it's actually going to happen. I cannot believe that he had to do a full 13 months. Especially when I read of people committing heinous crimes getting just a couple years.

The support I've received from this forum has been essential to me getting through this ordeal. I can't say that this year has been easy...it's definitely taken a major toll on our family, in so many ways, but I hope that once he's out and free again, that we can begin the healing process.

If you hear screams of joy tomorrow, you'll know where it's coming from!

I do think it was set up to keep it separate. I wish it were more noticed than it is. I think Bea's post did help quite a bit. It took a long while before I noticed this side of the forum and even still you have to go to the other side then click to get here, which is inconvenient, but that's the way it is. I think that causes fewer people to do it. I guess just keep a thread bumped to the top is the only way to let others know who don't yet know. I think it's going to be near impossible to keep people from posting non-trade posts, though. When you want to get attention to your post, you're certainly more apt to on that side of the forum than on this. Blessings, Angela

Well...here we go... A LOT has changed in the last 2-5 years in paint & colorants. Almost ALL companies are- * Have dropped, or are dropping most of their OIL-Based paints, * Increasing the variety of the newer class of "Waterborne-Alkyds", * The EPA push to have most paints get to a "NO or Low-VOC" status, has REALLY changed the types of solvents/additives once used. * Thusly, many lines are now "thicker" than they used to be. Many existing Resins can't be used anymore! * Even colorants are affected! None of our tinters has the Glycol-based colorants anymore. These were used for a looooonnng time, because they could tint Oil AND Water-based paints. * Now with the No/Low-VOC requirements, colorants are largely Acrylic/Waterborne-based now. * The new colorants dry out FAST...so new or altered tinting-equipment has to be used....this ain't cheap either!!! * By later this year....we won't be able to tint "Oil-paints"...AT ALL. So...yes, there's MANY reasons why your paints don't behave the way they used to!!! It's a new ballgme now.... Faron

Insect Repellency Testing has shown that several microorganisms found in worm castings work as effective repellants for a large array of insects. A key element for insect repellency is the level of chitinase-producing organisms. Chitinase is an enzyme that will dissolve chitin. The exoskeleton of bugs is made of chitin [so obviously they don't want to hang out where their skeletons will get dissolved!]. Bugs have various detection mechanisms to determine the level of chitinase in plants and soil. Once the chitinase level is high enough, they will leave the area. Worm castings test with a very high level of chitinase-producing organisms. Also, some elements in worm castings are able to activate the chitinase-producing organisms found inside plants. Once triggered, these organisms multiply to a level that can be detected by the insects. The repellency effectiveness has been tested and confirmed for white fly, aphids, spider mites and various other bugs. Twenty various plants have been tested showing effectiveness. The rate of repellency is in direct relation to the size of the plant. Spider mites will leave houseplants in about 2 weeks, aphids leave roses in about 6 weeks, and white flies will leave full sized hibiscus in about 3 months.

I don't know the story, but I am very happy for you and your family. I truly hope your son will be putting this misery behind him and moving forward in a positive way. How great that he has a loving, caring family for support.

Try to sleep a few winks tonight, you need your energy. Tomorrow night you won't sleep at all as you will be getting up every 2 minutes to make sure you aren't dreaming he's home. :o)

Pesky, that is the best news I have heard in a while. I imagine he is holding his breath, afraid to believe that he is really going home.

OH MY GOSH! So that's what that happy screaming was I heard up in Portland! : ) : )

In this case, it seems that what didn't kill him has indeed and will continue to make your son stronger. I'd love to see a newspaper article on this excellent use of our taxpayer money and limited prison space (SARCASM).
