Get yourself a good quality Oriental rug in a style and colorway you like, either a knotted Persian or a woven Nomadic or Caucasus type. Then you can get your ottoman in a color and fabric that works with your sectional and your rug. By the way, if you think people will really be putting their feet up on the ottoman, you might want to think about getting a leather ottoman. It holds up very well, looks substantial and goes with everything.

Thank you! I absolutely love the pillow in your photo. We’re in a condo so furniture placement is tricky. The bookshelf is temporary - we have a toddler and needed something that could attach to the wall and was out of the way. Regarding curtains, that is one thing my husband feels strongly about - he absolutely hates fabric curtains of any kind (even the stack of fully open Roman blinds is too much for him to handle). Our compromise was simple off white linen blend roller shades, those should get delivered in the coming week. Here’s the whole space:
