I just went back to HomeSense and picked up two more rugs. They are softer blends. I agree with you. The bright teal is actually just a pillowcase I took from my stepson for now. But I have a soft blue teal sheets and my drapes have a greyish teal as well. Ill see if these work... hard to see but one has a bit of teal in it the other is more of a stone blue... I wanted the others to work because one of the rugs was over $1000 and marked down to $150!!!

Get yourself a good quality Oriental rug in a style and colorway you like, either a knotted Persian or a woven Nomadic or Caucasus type. Then you can get your ottoman in a color and fabric that works with your sectional and your rug. By the way, if you think people will really be putting their feet up on the ottoman, you might want to think about getting a leather ottoman. It holds up very well, looks substantial and goes with everything.

Thank you! I absolutely love the pillow in your photo. We’re in a condo so furniture placement is tricky. The bookshelf is temporary - we have a toddler and needed something that could attach to the wall and was out of the way. Regarding curtains, that is one thing my husband feels strongly about - he absolutely hates fabric curtains of any kind (even the stack of fully open Roman blinds is too much for him to handle). Our compromise was simple off white linen blend roller shades, those should get delivered in the coming week. Here’s the whole space:

You have two feet in three boats. Navy and white on the walls, a drab rug that isn't sharing the feel of the paper or the fresh clarity of the navy and white. You will have teal cushions on white oak chairs. Where are you trying to go? Cheery? Are the stools staying? I assume they are, since you are also changing the light. I think I am confused as to the look you want. : ) To answer the question? Not that rug with the paper, and perhaps NO rug at all. The area is too small to get one large enough to not be in the way of stools at the peninsula. Maybe re think the paper........to acknowledge the chairs. I see no need for any rug. Consider how and where you will begin and end wall paper as well. Maybe some more pics of the entire space, and some inspo of the feel you want. That teal???? Maybe consider ART...............INSTEAD : )
