Best Glue for Attaching Ribbon to Glass?

I've made a Glass Block for a friends birthday gift. I've tried using the Aleene's Clear Gel Tacky Glue..and it's just not working.

Any idea what I can use that won't show/bleed through on the ribbon, but will be a permenant?

Leveta..thanks for the suggestion, but I've tried hot glue in the past. It just won't "stick" to glass.

Did you know that Hobby Lobby has the pre-drilled glass blocks. AND..they also have the stands for them.

garden2garden I have seen a piece done like that a while back and didn't realize it was aquarium rocks. They were applied only one layer deep which is how this should have been done, but her first attempt and she just didn't realize that the top layer didn't really have any contact with the adhesive. I think my best bet would be to rub off the top layer and if in places too much comes off just glue it back on. GeeMee2 I bet Thompson's water seal would be good. Would be perfect for the wood portion anyway. I will be celebrating 6 years in December!!! I have several pink ribbon pieces in my gardens, and I love them all.

Glue used for pressed flowers

Naturegirl13, There are several glues you can use for flowers but there are two in particular that are very good. I actually sell both on my website: http://www.orchidaepressedflowers.com. And I use them exclusively in my pressed flower art. The first is called Botanical Glue and it's great because it has a UV protectant in it and the consitencey is great to work with - a bit thicker than Elmers. It has a fiarly fast drying time. The second is called PPA or Perfect Paper Adhesive. I recommend the matte version as the glossy version makes the end product look fake. It has a consisency a little thinner than Elmers so it gives you a littel more drying time to play around and move your flowers. It also has the UV protectant quality. How about trying some of that redline double stick tape. Just tape it together under the bow so you won't have to see anything. Do you put bows on?

Well, I found some stuff at Hobby Lobby (in the glues/adhesives)called "Zips" and it seems to be working fine. There's 24' of it in the box.There's strips of adhesive down the center of the "tape".

Leveta..yes, I got one of the stands and I really like it! Regular $4.99, but I used the 40% off coupon!*S* I like that the bulb fits in the stand and you just sit the block over it. I also bought the little 7w light, instead of using the string of Christmas lights. I like that if the bulb burns out, it can be replaced really easy!

CB...when I made the glass eggs with the feathers...and glued the flowers, lace, pearl and ribbon...I used that GEII silicone glue...it worked good.
