I agree that induction is easier to clean than a lot of the pro-style stoves that I have seen. With your kitchen's stove cut-out being an actual 30" wide, the NXR is not going to fit, It is a true 30" wide. Most nominally 30" cut-outs are supposed to be 30 1/8", more or less. Yours is less, so that takes out the NXR. Most nominally 30" wide stoves are actual 29 7/8" wide. Btw, if you saw a 30" spec in NXR installation instructions (linked on the Costco site), the 30" width in the drawing is for the spacing of the upper cabinets above the stove, not the cut-out in the base cabinets. There are numbers of NXR threads here which point out that the stove is a true rather than nominal 30" wide. The crooked NXR oven door sounds like somebody pulled the door when moving the stove and didn't get it remunted correctly. That is what I did whan I moved my NXR into the house. If you have not seen it done, it can be a little tricky to get the hinge slots lined up so the door sits full square. The appliance guy should do what I did and call the customer service people at NXR Duro. Real, live, helpful folks will answer the phone and step him through re-mounting the door. When you match up what you really like and dislike and figure out your priorities and budget, every choice turns out to be a set of tradeoffs. That's what happened to me. I found that the NXR gave me a little bit more of what I wanted than the freestanding induction ranges I had originally planned on getting. But, it would not have taken much to change the balance. If you've got the budget for a BlueStar etc., you might want also to look into the Electrolux and GE induction slide-in stoves. Do check on the breaker size for the 240 line. I do not recall what your old Viking dual fuel required fr power service, but it the existing line might or might not be sufficient to service an induction range. If ti is not, then you an x-out a couple of choices just as the cut-out-size took care of the NXR for you.

There won't be many reviews of the Benchmark series because they didn't come out very long ago. I do know at least one person on this forum has one though, and they love it. Cooktop: To be honest I don't really like gas cooktops so I'm not too familiar with the different offerings out there. If I had to buy one I would get Bluestar or Thermador because I believe they have the best burner designs (most powerful and most even). There are other factors to consider though like grates and burner/control layout and unfortunately I think both of those have center controls. I think the best thing you can do here is go to a showroom and maybe bring your pans. Personally I prefer induction cooktops, or, if it has to be gas, a rangetop. Hood: It's a fan in a metal box. Not much to go wrong. Buy the one that you like the looks, features and price of. Stay away from the no-name, obviously made in China ones that are only available online. Dishwasher: Bosch vs. Miele is a tossup. They are both good quality, Miele slightly more so but with a price to match. Again pick the one with the looks and features you want with a price you can afford. Make sure to bring your dishes to the showroom and make sure the racks will work for you. Fridge: What type do you need? Freestanding/built in/integrated? What width? French door/single door? I went from a GE Profile Flat top to a 36" CC. I'll start with the look. I think the Capital is the best looking range I have seen. There shouldn't be any shame in wanting a good looking Range after spending a fortune on a remodel. As far as cleaning. It is much more work to clean the CC but I only clean it about every two weeks. I cleaned my flat top after every use to protect the surface. After cleaning the CC it always looks like a new range. I would not buy a range with any porcelain on the grates or top. It is almost impossible to keep them looking good. Now let's talk performance. The GE flat top outperformed the CC with boiling water on smaller pots about 8" and under. The reason is that even though the burners are 23k, there is no way you can turn up the flame all the way without making the pot handles smoking hot. I usually use the small pot burner for 8 and under so I can turn the flame up but it is still slower than the flat top. For larger pots or WOK cooking there is no comparison. The CC is great. Simmering is better on the flat top but the small pot burner or a diffuser works fine. The oven in the GE Profile had much better control and the oven height was much taller. The CC oven racks are the worst I have ever seen. When they heat up it is impossible to get them to slide without them cocking and getting stuck. If I did it again I would buy the CC range top and buy an electric oven to put beneath it. I do like my range and enjoy getting compliments on it.
