Canned Poppyseed Filling

Do you use Solo Poppyseed filling?

What do you use it for?

As a rule I love poppyseed.

Poppyseed-Almond muffins,

Lemon Poppyseed muffins.

Love it baked on and into,

breads, rolls, & bagels, crackers, etc.

So, when I decided to make Rugelach this year

(for the fist time)

I bought 2 cans of the poppyseed filling.

Had the dough all rolled out,

Opened the first can,

And with high expectations, tasted it.

YUCK! ! ! ! !

Gagged, spit it out,

and pitched the whole can,

Then found some preserves to use instead.

I do still have one unopened can.

Does the taste of it change when it is baked into something?

If not, any suggestions of what to do with it?

Or should I just pitch it, too.

Thanks for any suggestions.

I really do hate to waste good food,

But I'm not sure this stuff should be considered food.
