Poem needed--Reverse Trick or Treat

Hi! Some ladies and I got the idea to do "reverse" trick or treating (never too old ;-) and bring treats to the elderly and shut-ins from our churches. Can anyone come up with a cute poem? I want it to have something about how we think they are so sweet...and...reverse trick or treat. We're also going to give them a bag of candy (if they want one) to hand out to trick or treaters in case they couldn't get out to get some or couldn't afford it. Any other ideas on what we could do? Thanks in advance for any ideas! I'll post this over on the holiday forum too.

Could you cut out a little white ghost from card stock or craft foam to attach to each bag with the poem?

This little ghost, whose name is Boo!
Filled up a goodie bag for you.
It's his special twist on trick or treat
Because you are so very sweet!

Just a friendly reminder.....make sure none of these folks have diabetes. If they are in a nursing facility, then they are usually monitored/helped in giving out candy. Otherwise kindness and "sweetness" could turn out to be a critical situation.

Didn't mean to take the fun out of giving. I love to give too.

What a lovely idea. I'm sure they will enjoy this, and will love that you were so thoughtful to do so. Bless you for it. I usually write songs and poems at the school where I work, and the kids and other teachers get a kick out of them...So, I hope this works for you. Also, you can substitute...the words - Mortals for (Everyone)..and the word Older...for (Bolder)...if you like that better. Once Again, I think what you are doing is wonderful. Slinkey... It's that time of year When Wiches and Goblins Appear.. Chasing All Mortals Away... Have - No - Fear, you see.. They won't chase - You and Me... We still Enjoy Halloween Fun.. We're Wiser and Older.. We Look Over Our Shoulder! And they know, We Won't Run!! So that's why Its Neat As We Bring You these treats... And Spread some Halloween Cheer..

I'm no poet by any stretch, but since Halloween is tomorrow and nobody else has replied, here's one for you. It may deter some kids from dumping the whole bowl in their bag if they think they are being watched??? I've seen that done before! Maybe you can tweek this one to work. Because you are so sweet, I've left this special treat. But if you don't want a nasty trick 1 or 2 candies ONLY you must pick!

Because I helped out at the HS I knew alot of teens, especially the boys. When they came to the house, I started out making them do a trick then get the treat. You cannot how talented some of the kids were and what they went thru to get the treats. Great and so much fun. Kids would sing, say a poem, act etc. This would be many years ago. They even planned 1 act plays. Sure do miss that!

Thank you so much Les! I knew you would come up with a good one! And yes, thanks for the reminder about diabetics. We are planning things for them too because a few on our list are diabetics. I can't wait to go do this...we're having so much fun planning it!
