The idea of two signs for the same show is wrong. What about the people that bought your mug for $7 and came back later only to find the price was now $5? They would feel ripped off. How fast did your $5 mugs sell? Were they gone in an hour or did they take the whole day to sell? If they went in an hour, then raise the price. But if they took the whole show to sell, they were priced correctly. Now you mention a 2 day show. Are you making anything else besides these mugs? I hope so. Because 50 mugs at a 2 day show is nowhere near enough. That's only $350 in sales at $7. Other exhibitors will be at that show expecting sales of $1,000 to $2,000. You have a great idea in these mugs! If it were me, I would be concentrating on just the mugs and becoming known for them. I would look into having a display of them with different themes and have at LEAST 250 ready to go for every show. You can get the mugs wholesale by the case. Most places out here used to be straight fee for each table. But most boutiques are gone as women had to get jobs to keep afloat. I would check it out, maybe bring my lunch & sit in car or plan on eating out after you watch how many bags of goodies are being bought,after you have gone in & checked it out. Might talk to couple of ladies that have completely different type items to see if they like this place & are happy with sales since you are thinking you might be interested in doing it, since you now have more time on your hands. Note if most of stuff is "company made" Like Aunt Sally's Jams (on back it would say manufactured in KS) so you would know that is not made by the woman no matter how cutey the lid looks. Some women sold stuff they got at 99 cent stores as it was or added a ribbon or something, that always bugs me also. Find out if they start on time & is everyone set up by time doors open! If it isn't at least 50% handmade items I don't go back.(Hope there is no Aunt Sally's jams, I made that up for example)I loved Aunt Sally cookies, those long puffy gingerbready cookies with marshmallow -look icing!I should make some, I have a good recipe for them! Glad to hear it went well & you enjoyed it! I always had my tables covered with plain colored cloths to the floor so I could store my stuff underneath & put empty boxes around the front area of table (underneath the cloth so if people tried to take something all they found under the cloth was empty boxes!)Always brought a lunch that didn't smell! I hate walking by booth or table & smells like Mexican, Italian, etc or tuna sandwich-I like those foods just not while I am shopping. Cheese sandwich was what I took. Only been to 1 sale this year & they didn't have much, it was a church that used to have great stuff & lots of handmades but mostly jewelry & used items & not cookies & breads like before! What kind of items did you make that were under $5? I need ideas for little things to give folks & DD & grandkids. Jan

Went to probably the one and only craft show for me this year as there are not many around where I live. Biggest one is $90 for a spot with vendors crammed in like sardines so it all looks like one big blur...I don't do that one. Further North in British Columbia where I used to live there were quite a lot of craft shows and I always went to a number of them through the year and did well, could usually count on $200-$300 per show which certainly made it worthwhile to leave the house... Here it really blows - a few small ones at schools and churches that run for 3 or 4 hours. I went to one such show yesterday. Cost was $15 for the spot, very reasonable. Quite a few vendors, about half and half homemade and stuff like Discovery Toys, Avon and Epicure, which I always find weird. Anyway, made a whopping $11.50 for the day, sold 1 $10 dollar item and 2 75cent items...LOL. No point in being upset about it, I don't need the money I just do it cause I like to make things. Pretty darn pathetic though and I won't go back. Probably about 50 people through the craft show in 5 hours made for a rather long day... Bought 6 knitted dishcloths at $1 each which is a great deal for those. Also bought 2 fitted sheets for my bed that have a waterproof liner sewn onto them for $40. Might seem expensive, but since I had my Ostomy a year ago I have occasional night time dryness issues, and $40 for sheets is a lot cheaper than a new bed every few months...lol. So all in all the day cost me money. But life's like that sometimes... Suzan J
