My appliance selections and prices. What do you think?
Comments (11)Hello everyone. Thanks for the responses. Live Wire Oak-- I think the Frigidaire is made by Electrolux. It says Electrolux inside it. Also, its the largest all refrigerator/all freezer units that don't cost upwards of $3K each. I love the look of the units side by side when they are built into a cabinet and the trim kit is used. I hope they operate as well as they look. Thanks :) AKChicago- I thought long and hard about the built in microwave, but thought it the lesser of the two evils of either the built in MW or the combo with the wall oven (built together). Those are really the only two options I considered for my kitchen (mostly for the look). I actually picked out all these appliances myself. My builder wasn't involved. Weissman- My thought exactly. The dishwasher performing very well is very important to me, so it was imperative that I find a great one. I think I have in the Asko. It has great reviews. The fridge and freezer just need to cool, freeze, and have spill proof shelves, and hold a lot. I think I have accomplished all I need in the Frigidaire, with a great built in look (built into my cabinetry and with the trim kit). Footballmom- I didn't know about the lowered BTU's. I'll have to ask some questions about that. Thanks :) And also the fan. Its actually a 36" cabinet above but the cabinetmaker says the bigger vent hood will not fit. I would like to double check. hilferty77- I also wonder about the Electrolux/Frigidaire vs the Electrolux Icon....See MoreAppliance Roundup - What do you think?
Comments (3)If your water is as hard as mine, You want to get a whole house water softener, alto I put mine on the hot side only and the Miele is connected to the Hot Side. Our extra hard water here, totalled my 9 year old KA. It looked like snow inside of it! Didn't want to subject the pricey Miele to that. After 5 years, it still looks new inside, thanks to the soft water, and I don't hafta mess with putting salt, etc in the DW. Alto the Miele does a pretty good job of cleaning and drying, I still miss the heated dry, and hollerin' "Yeow" if I tried to remove the dishes from the old KA too soon after it finished---just seems to me, more sanitary, but after 5 years, no diseases, so maybe the Miele is OK? Nice choices on the other appliances, especially the Fridge/Freezer combo, We have a 48" built in and paneled Jenn-air and it has been trouble free, cept for replacing the ice maker after 5 years, but was easy for me to do and not pricey.Like you, we wanted as much fridge freezer room as possible and the ability to store that which we use most at the most convenient height (for us). I'm not into getting on knees and digging into a freezer (LOL)--just not as "Limber" as I usta be! We have the Electrolux oven and speed oven,(for more than 5 years), and they have been trouble free, and bake great. A poster here has both an Elux oven and a Wolf oven and likes them both equally well, so the Wolf should "Suffice". Gary...See MoreWhat do you think of a white sink with stainless appliances?

Comments (2)I have a similar set up. Induction is awesome, you will never, ever miss the time you spent cleaning you rprevious cooktop, and the control on induction is as good as gas. I have the 36" cooktop, CSO, and one of the MasterChef ovens because my husband was with me and he gets easily upsold ;-) PS The CSO is heavenly, just as great as everyone says....See Moreweissman
