Anyone buy a vanity online?

Found a seller on e-bay with beautiful pictures of vanities with travertine tops, would be under $1000 with shipping for a 60".

Just a little worried about damage, etc.

Anyone do this yet?

I bought 2 vanities online from Ebay (although much cheaper than the one you're looking at). Both were packaged exceptionally well, and every part, the ceramic basins and even the mirrors, made it with no damage. I was actually surprised how well they were packaged.

I am wondering, too. I have been looking at the DreamLine antique furniture-style vanities on their website and wonder about their quality. Does your vanity come with a backsplash and faucet?

Oh my goodness, the best seed purchase I ever made was from Pine Knot Farms in South Carolina. can't swear they are still doing this, but I had great success with PKF mixed open pollinated seeds. They were 50 seeds for 5 dollars, you cannot beat that! I got an incredible variety; solids, spotted, veined, doubles, anemones, almost black, whites, even 2 bright yellows. The ones I don't like so much and intend to cull....I have friends standing in line asking for them! The catch is that you need a lot of space to grow on 50 of the plants to see what they will look like. they also sell strictly southern Belle seeds, 5 for 5$. You don't need to spend that; get the 50 for 5 bucks! But hurry, their seed season is ending. If you want to choose the type of flowers you get, then use Elizabeth Town in Tazmania. I have gotten seed from them 3 times and the plants are vigorous and 80% true. BUT, you have to wait until January to order from them. Here is a link that might be useful: Pine Knot

Anyone buy from Quality Flooring 4 Less Online?

I have ordered Daltile tiles from QualityFlooring4Less and had a good experience. I plan to order my next batch of tile from the company within the next few weeks. QF4L had the lowest price for Daltile Modern Dimensions I could find, and matched the lowest online price I could find for another Daltile product. Their customer service is proactive and helpful: When Daltile informed QF4L that one of the tiles I'd ordered had a monthlong production backlog but that the tile was available from some out-of-the-usual warehouse location and could be shipped to me for a fee, knowing that I was anxious to get the tile, QF4L gave the go-ahead to have the tile shipped and split the freight charge with me (an extra $15 to me). Later, Daltile would not release a box of tile to my installer, who was picking it up, unless he paid for the tile -- even though I'd prepaid my order. QF4L obtained a refund for me within two days and called to keep me updated. A few things surprised me about buying from QF4L: the fact that I had to pay state sales tax (because there is a Daltile showroom in my state and I was picking up from there) and the number of different names under which QF4L appears to operate. But I heartily recommend the company, and especially Mark and Dave, who were particularly helpful.

Anyone buy their Herbeau or other fireclay sink online?

I ordered mine through a local store...the Shaw 3018. It arrived yesterday and we inspected today...it is cracked at the rim (would show with any sort of reveal). So far my local store has been responsive, but there has been no resolution yet and I need a sink soon! The Rohls are now waitlisted due to some problem at the factory...maybe cracked rims??? LOL. It was also packed with the bottom on the side that said "Front" and to open that side. Does that seem odd? It seems like the bottom of the sink should have been on the ground... Anyway, I'm trying to decide if I stay with Rohl or change to a Herbeau or a Franke or a Kohler Fireclay apron front. Most people love the Shaw, but obviously there are issues with it, too, and I can't wait until Jan. to get the replacement... After this, I would definitely stick with local - they are going to come pick it up so I don't have to deal with shipping, and hopefully they will help resolve this mess.

I bought two antique sideboards on ebay to convert into bathroom vanities. Both had marble tops. The more expensive one of the 2 got here in absolutely perfect condition, it was extremely well packaged. The other one arrived with the marble top broken, but it was the fault of the seller for not packing it well enough.

It all comes down to the seller, and their feedback. My personal feeling is I don't buy things from sellers with less than 99.5% feedback, unless either the negs are more than a year old, or it's one or two negs from a relatively new seller. On the other hand, the second vanity I bought came from a fairly new seller with 100% positive, he just didn't have a clue how to pack something to be shipped to Hawaii. But since I got the piece for only $400 including shipping (birdseye maple french commode with bronze fittings), I didn't complain. :) The carpenters made a new wood top for it, and nobody knows the difference.

Here's my $200 (plus $200 for shipping) ebay steal:

YES, I bought 2 on-line, both from Home Decorators on-line. One is 72" for the master bath (antique cherry with black granite top, sink included) and a similar one 37" for the powder room with matching mirror. They arrived in perfect condition and I am very happy with them! I had a 20% off coupon and could not resist. All of it together was just at $2K. Our builder said our vanity alone looks like it cost that!
