You're lucky! Most Laptops that end up in a shop cost a lot more then a $100.00. It seems a lot of Laptop owners end up putting the Laptop in the shop at least twice over the course of ownership for major repairs..

This is the first time it has been in the shop. We have a shop called Computer Edgge downtown where I took it to. He had quoted me a price of 45.00 for replacing the inverter and then he called me about it and said the backlight had burned out and I would need a new screen. He said he had one there that he could let me have it for 99.99 so I said Ok do it.

I need my laptop in May for our daylily club's flower show. When we have two or more computers that have the AHS software on them, classification of the flowers goes much faster. The sooner we get the flowers placed into their classification of form and size, placed on tables and then judged by judges , then the show is opened to the public. A lot of people come to our show and sale of daylilies and they are always wanting to go in and see the flowers . If you have never been to a daylily flower show, you should go to one. We have every color of flower except blue and we are working on getting blue into our flower through hybridizing and we are so close that blues are showing up in the eyes and edges of the flowers now.

Wow! You are lucky! $100 dollars is cheap, cheap, CHEAP! My sons girlfriends laptop is in the shop at the moment waiting for her replacement screen to arrive so it can be fixed. She thought it was a backlight as well, which would have only cost $50 to replace though due to the type of screen the whole screen has to be replaced.

Not sure what total cost will be. Hope it's not much more than your estimate. That would be nice.

Laptop is fixed and home now. All in all I paid 151.99 for the screen, labor and taxes. Glad that I didn't spend all of my Christmas fund money I left after buying gifts for the family and shipping the gifts I made to son and daughter-in-law and grandson in Va.
