Did anyone notice...

the note on the bottom of the page about a FAQ forum?

I wonder how long it's been there? With so few new posts

lately I don't usually go that far down the page anymore

and just happened to notice it today for some reason.

I'm thinking of volunteering and was wondering if anyone else

has volunteered or was thinking of doing so too.

Lisa,yes,similar to aequalis,but more redish I think. Bloom is the same,but with orange brachts,instead of red. Comes from a collection area near the town of Parati.I obtained the original in 2003,from Tropiflora. My plants can be outdoors usually from late May to early October.But must watch the weather reports at the start and end for frost warnings.Before I put them outdoors,I reduce the temperature in their indoor growing area [a heated well windowed sun room],so it won't be a sudden change.The night temps will vary quickly at times,when the jetstream will bring down a cold front from Canada,across the Great Lakes.So it can be a fire-drill of bring them all in,or cover them up. I've become experianced with it,over the years,so its not been a problem.This year our weather has been perfect,80's day and 60's nights,most of the time.This week was a bit different,70's days and as low as 48 at night,due to cloudless skys.Seems as long as the temp change is gradual,the plants do just fine. Over the years,none were lost even when it dipped into the high 30's. Just like we do,the plants adjust I guess.

The delphinium worm is responsible for the damage on your delphiniums...when you see the growing tip curled up in the Spring, just give it a squeeze and you'll know when you get one of these critters. The plant usually recovers, but it IS unsightly for a while. I noticed less damage this year too, but I did find a couple of these worms. My roses are showing sawfly damage, so can't say that they are less of a presence this year...

I don't see the lines anymore, but what I am seeing is some peoples names are showing red/purple while others are blue. For example, marlingardener above me is blue. pattico is that red/purple color. I wonder why? Trish

Google Doodles are fun. If you do a search you will be able to see a lot of some of the older ones. Some are puzzles, some are games, and some are just fun to watch. One time I signed into Google+ and put in my birthday (day and month only, no year). Later, when my birthday came I freaked out when I saw "Happy Birthday (my name inserted here) " and cupcakes with candles. No one else saw those, just me. -Babka

Evelyn, I say go for it, too. Maybe you could get this site really moving. I know there are many talented folks out there and we need them to be posting their ideas, etc. I think it would be great!!!

There is a very talented lady at the Stained GLass and Mosaic forum that did the FAQ page by herself -- you might want to check it out- it's fantastic !

I've emailed Spike for more info on setting up the faq and he sent me a response.
With the encouragement from gluecille and raybeck and after checking out the
faq for the stainglass and mosaic forum that Toomuchglass suggested to do, I think I'll go for it.
Minnie, there are lots of questions you could ask about crafts for instance,
what glue to use for what, how to decoupage, how to paper mache, etc.
One of Spikes suggestions was to initiate a post asking what others
on the forum would like to see on the FAQ page so after becoming
the editor is finalized I will ask for input from everone. TIA

I've run into a glitch while trying to setup the faq. Have
emailed Spike with the problem and I'm hoping to hear from
him soon so that I can start the page.

Yes Gabriela I remember you. Long time no hear. The Crafters
Marketplace in Mississauga went belly up but I'm now in the
one in Pickering which is about an hour away from here.
