This is a commercial rangetop, for sale on eBay. It's a Wolf brand, with the model number CCT-361A. The thing is at least a foot tall. I would expect that you would have to be an extremely tall individual in order to cook with it sitting on a standard height countertop. The thing won't have electronic ignition. You will either have to light it with a match or keep a pilot light lit constantly on the thing. It will also likely violate every firecode imaginable.

Before you buy the thing I would order a copy of the product documentation to find out what the minimum clearances are on every side of that rangetop. Commercial cooking appliances generally have different clearance requirements than residential. You will want to make sure that you have adequate space to install the rangetop.

NO, that cannot go into a cabinet. It will need a stainless steel equipment stand and about a foot to 18" of clear air space around the sides, plus a fireproof back wall and a commercial quality ventilation system. And that is if your gas piping can supply what it will demand and your homeowners insurance will cover you having commercial equipment in your home.

Since I grew up in the Chinese restaurant business, I was used to seeing such equipment.
But everyone is right: it's not for my house.

I guess I need to go purchase a restaurant to release my need for extreme BTU and stainless steel.
(DH and I just comprised for our stainless countertop: going from 24feet (my wish) down to 12feet (his compromise).

If you are looking for a powerful rangetop for your home kitchen, check out the Bluestar. You get (in the 6 burner config) two 22K burners, 3 15K, and an 8K simmer burner. It has full electronic ignition, but the top is ALL cast iron, open burner, and you can pull the grates off to fit a wok directly in the burner bowl. At 22K it won't heat a wok like a true blowtorch wok cooker, but it does pretty well. It is probably as close to a commercial rangetop as you will find in a residential appliance.

huan - maybe this will satisfy your craving if you can find one lying around. They have been discontinued, which means you'll probably get a sweet price if you can find one.

Viking also has one that's not quite as powerful but more than 22k.

Amanda, I had similar desires for a commercial-like kitchen in my home. Right now, the Culinarian is THE closest you'll find. The burners are similar to the Wolf/Vulcan that you seem interested in. While not 25-35k BTU, they are 23k. And that's the same on all burners. It'll be like old hat using one.

re: antss's suggestion - there is a standalone 30k btu 24" wok rangetop burner that was previously sold as DCS, with quite a few available as NOS out there pretty cheap. The exact same unit is now sold as the Capital PowerWok unit. Despite being sold under the Capital Precision banner, it is an open burner unit.

If I had room for one, I'd get it in a second...
