Have you tried the steps below: Reset the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings No data is lost due to a reset.

You'll need specific "phono" input RCA jacks on your receiver, not just jacks for a tape player or Aux In. Turntables need a greater boost than other line-in items. The exception is with some newer turntables that have a switch on them to provide the necessary added boost so they can be attached to a standard line-in or tape input jack (and many newer stereo or AV receivers, or the little ones that are part of mini shelf systems, don't have a dedicated phono input). There are also gizmos available (for about $25 from Recoton the last time I looked) that attach between the turntable and aux-in jack to provide the extra boost. I use a cheapo Radio Shack amplifier that includes the needed phono EQ for this purpose. Mine was sold under the Realistic brand, I think they've switched to the RCA brand (under license, same product) since then. It was about $60 new when I bought mine, although I paid less than half that on eBay.

I love iPods. I didn't think it made much of a difference, but after using an iPod - I am sold! You can buy a refurbished iPod from Apple and get a one year warranty on it. I would recommend the iPod Nano. You can get the 8gb one for $150 new or $99 refurbed. You can even put video's on the Nano. Didn't think it would be that great -but it is quite nice if you are traveling.

DS has a Zune, I have an I pod. We talked a moment about this and he likes his zune a bit better. His Zune has always been able to download movies, while mine cannot. He said the newer Ipods can do movies and the software for zune is free as is I-tunes for the Ipod. I like the big zune screen but I pods are easy to carry around in most pockets. After talking with ds, I think either one would work great for music or video. DS said Zune software download has improved alot since he got his when the first came out. He likes it better than I tunes and the reason he knows is because I'm always asking him to help me on I-tunes, not that it's so hard but he's just so much faster than me in getting what I want! oh, and DS said his zune does have a FM tuner but not a AM tuner. Currently zune can trade photos wirelessly. The same with songs BuT you can only play them 3 times,,unless you purchase your own later.
