Irfan view software

My Irfan view software will not work with Windows 7. So far looking I do not see a newer one.

I am using it on my Vista Lap top.

Are any of you folks using it with Windows 7? I use this one daily.

Is there another software similar that you like?

I use it to save images of things I see that I like or to resize my photos before uploading them to a crafting site.

I'm using it with Windows 7. No problems here.
Been using it for about 6 months now.

What version are you using? Mine is a dinasaur 4.23. Maybe I can search on line by the version number

I use Irfanview more than anything, especially to size wallpaper. I found the instructions lacking for some things like cropping. I still have Roxio and will continue with it for "fixing" photos until it is no longer supported. Then I will go with Irfanview for everything. I don't do a lot of pictures anymore, there is no one who shows an interest in them besides me. I don't even take a camera with me on trips anymore.

are you wanting to purchase this program? If so here is a link to a site that I think is fairly safe, this is not a free program. Of course as always be sure to download to your pc then SCAN the file well with your antivirus program before you double click on it to install to make sure there are no bad things attached. ACDSee Classic There are some very very good programs that are free that can do what it does. IrfanView is an excellent free program. Picasa free is also a great program. Picasa there are some great tutorials here for it.

I learned the basics of Irfanview in 2 hrs. - cropping, resizing, color adj. You can embed a title in a pic., change a .gif or .png to .jpg, change an image to grey tones, set up a slide show, blur/sharpen, and much more. And it's fast. If I have to clone I reluctantly use Photoshop Elements. When I compared the results of a photo sharpened with Elements with one by Irfanview, I preferred the Irfan. Photofiltre is also freeware. Perhaps it may be your settings for viewing...On the toolbar click VIEW...go down to Display Options(window mode)...will give a list of different settings...check the one you want...just for example I have mine checked at--Fit only big images to desktop and Center image in window...Also in...OPTIONS--Property Settings---Full screen tab...I have Fit to screen:large images only(recommended) and the Set display multiplier(%) at 100% for width and height...These are the settings I use and like...Hope this may help...or give you an idea... Version 4.35 When I installed it, I just went to the Irfanview homepage
and downloaded the newest version.

Loralee when you download Irfanview also grab the plugins too, they make the difference.

I was able to get the Irfanview downloaded in no time at all and have it installed and working. I use this nearly everyday and sure would miss it.

It works just fine with Windows 8.1 also.
