how to grab youtube video

Anyone recommend a free download that will enable me grab youtube and google videos for the purpose of installing them on my computer and then playing them back on win media player at my leisure?

I've tried save2pc light and it's not reliable.

I just use the website at the link below. All you do is copy/paste the URL for the youtube video you want to download and select the type of program you want. It will convert it for you and give a download link when finished. HTH.

We recently bought the 8X12 Sunglo from Costco. I didn't have time to put it togather so I had a friend who is a carpenter build it. It took him 25 hours to get it done. The written instructions are hard to follow but the video was better. He had his wife help him thru the whole project and said it would have been hard with out a second person. For the electric it came with a plug for the 220 but he put a regular 220 outlet in. The outside of the end pieces are hard to bend into place by what the video shows but if you do it like the book says it's easier. The greenhouse is very nice and is very sturdy.

Interesting video Brandon. But I think it has some flaws. My opinions come from pure anedotal, personal experience. Firstly, I have felled many trees -zone 4,5,6, if that matters, and can tell you that I have been soaked- boots and pants, from water/sap gushing up, by the gallons, while in the process of cutting through the trunks of many poplars and willows, and to a lesser degree, maple- red , silver and sugar, elm... The point is, the water/sap was being pushed out from the roots, not sucked up, as evidenced by the water/sap pouring from the cut stump . Definitley a pressurized system of some description. Secondly , if there are no 'valves' in the tree system why doesn't the sap/water release from the top portion of the cut tree? There's 10's, 100's, sometimes 1000's of gallons in the above cut portion of the tree. Food for thought....biology not my forte.

Whole house fan is called an "attic fan" in new orleans. Most houses had them before air conditioners were invented and widely used. I grew up with one before AC and even had one in the house I am living in now, but we removed it when we remodeled 10 years ago. An attic fan mounts to the ceiling joist and the cut out was 4 times larger than the one you have... because the fan is bigger. Unfortunately it brings in the outside dirt, noise, humidity, and there is only about 2 months out of the year that it is marginally comfortable to use. But, as you said, you will save money if you are willing to turn off the AC. Before window ac units, having an attic fan was all we had..... and it was much more appreciated back then. About 90 percent of the homes in my subdivision had attic fans...thats over 2000 homes that were built in the early 1950's. A couple of nites each year we will sleep wth the ac off and the windows up..... almost like camping out.... and you would be surprised at all of the noises you hear with windows open at night. That little face and head looks just like my Izzy! She was suppose to be a Chihuahua but I knew when I saw her that she wasn't full blood! She is black and has the body of a large Chi but the face and ears of a Doxie.We love her anyway.Her favorite toy is an empty water bottle.She will grab it and throw it over her head and catch it.She can open the lid even when DH tightens it as tight as possible.She will work on it until she gets it open.Elvira is adorable.

texken, Question:

There is only one YouTube I want to save, so I made a shortcut to my desktop.

I know if for whatever reason that YouTube is removed, I no longer have access to it.

If I use the downloader you linked, does that mean that the YouTube is then on my pc "forever?" I would love that!

It is my DGS's wedding video and I don't want it to disappear. I have wondered if there might be a way to really save it.

yes if you use one of the methods we have mentioned you then save the video to your hard drive so you have access to it even if it is taken off of you tube.

I saw the wot rating on ABC and went to the review page to see why and not one single reason was given. I don't get it for that site because I have used it and all it does is give you the video, I have not had any bad experience with it. I hate when people give bad ratings and then don't bother to post why they are giving a rating I always leave the reason why.

for those using firefox there is an add on that does this too.

Yes...the program will download the .flv file, then convert it to something a media player can recognize. You tell the program what kind of conversion you prefer, and the file is then stored on your hard drive. You set the preference for type of file converstion and locaton to save. You can play the file offline, anytime.

Terry, video getting site works for me so far. I've downloaded 3 clips successfully.

Ravencajun, From ABC, I get the message "Sorry, the URL is not recognised".

txKen, From yours, I get a warning that the site is questionable.

The program is safe..I've used it for a long time.
I do not, however, update it.
