30' glass wall-mounted chimney hood

Searching for a 30" glass wall-mounted chimney hood. Would love the 30 moon crystal from Futuro Futuro but trying to hack down the cost of appliances to fit within a smaller kitchen budget. Doesn't need to be extremely powerful, but don't want it to be too noisy. Suggestions and advice welcome! (And if anyone has any experience of a Jasmine hood - seems cheap but limited specs - please let me know your feedback.) Thanks.

I'm pretty sure Kobe makes a 30" glass hood similar to the moon crystal and I hear they are pretty quiet.

Appliance price is important, but thereÂs one factor a lot of people overlook Â installation cost. It's OK to save a few bucks if your appliances, such as refrigerator, microwave, toaster, do not require professional installation.
Unfortunately, with appliances that DO require professional installation (built-in cooktops, wall ovens, and range hoods), in some cases, the installation will cost almost as much as the appliance itself. And itÂs important to do it once and for all. I know this for a fact, because I do kitchen cabinet installations, as well as appliances.
Today, thereÂs a lot of junk appliances, especially range hoods, that come from China. You can find a lot of them on eBay Â theyÂre very cheap. One thing they have in common is, completely false specifications, even though the pictures are beautiful. These products are made to sell, not to last. ThereÂs no difference whether itÂs Cavaliere, Spagna, Eurokitchen, Veneto (look, all are Italian names Â why?). The result is the same.
IÂm grateful for these companies for keeping me busy, but if you can afford European quality products (not to be confused with "European style"), and you donÂt want to be busy changing it every year or so, thatÂs the way to go.

Thanks - That looks like a great choice. This is going over a standard slide-in electric range, not springing for induction given the situation. I literally started planning this remodel this morning and it needs to be done asap. As in, I'm planning to order cabinets tonight and my contractor will probably be done with 2 baths and ready to start the kitchen before well before my cabinets come in. Anyway, the one appliance store I went to earlier is trying to talk me into KA CD FD fridge and range for about $1800 each. I'm on AJ Madison wondering if for not a whole lot more (about $400 combined) Electrolux would be more appealing. They don't seem to have a hood I want though, because I don't feel like cleaning glass. But then again, home buyers in my market might like to see a package. (I'm recycling my Miele DW even though it's black and it's old. It works perfectly. I'm willing to accept that someone might frown on that. Worst case I could throw a SS panel on it.) I've very open to all suggestions - I think I've given an idea of the higher end of what I'd like to spend. Very open between dining room and kitchen, looking head on to the range. Looks count!

i was writing this on my phone while trotting through home depot! I am shocked you understood my gibberish haha. We are using the rigid duct. Shockingly enough, the hood came with a flex pipe. The wall we are punching through is sheet rock, fiberglass insulation, wood clap board siding, finally composite shingle then outside air. : <at 19 inches = hole punches out to exterior. the duct goes 90' out of it > : : : : chimney / duct for 19 inches straight up : : : : _________ <top of fan portion (the big triangle piece) It is 13 inches from bottom baffle to chimney start> _________________ 28 inches ___stove top____ O O O O The duct is 6 inches - The top fan of the hood is made to receive 6 inch duct so assuming that is the correct diameter. We will be using the high heat tape to connect the duct together unless there is a better method. Thank you for all the input. I just wanted to clarify everything in case anyone else had some tidbits of wisdom. HAHA I couldnt figure out how to edit my original post. not very tech savvy :-P

Is this hood only decorative, in which case my questions below can be safely ignored? Does this candidate hood have an adequate capture aperture -- one that overlaps the pans? Don't count cylindrical concave glass that spills most of the plume that impinges on it. Spherical glass might work, but I've not seen a hood with one. Have you determined your needed flow rate based on the capture aperture, and your rated flow rate based on the needed flow rate and likely system pressure losses?

Kobe makes a 24", 30", 36" and 42" glass chimney style hood and the pricing is very good about $850.00 with 600 cfm of power and LED readout

Thanks for your advice. Robert, I had seen the really cheapo ones with Italian names and was suspicious as none had noise levels, so thanks for the information (and also for the advice about installation). I'll go with the Kobe.
