soffit/facia colors

Help! We are having a very difficult time trying to figure out our gutters, soffit and facia to coordinate with our home. We have bonze Marvin windows and walnut stained Thermatru front door. Our brick is a dark red, so I wanted to have the gutters match the windows so it would blend better. The problem is that our design includes front and side porches with double wooden cylindrical collumns and I don't know what color to paint them and how to tie this color into the rest of the scheme (white/creme soffit and/or facia and collums?) Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Get out. We have Dark Bronze windows from Hurd and Walnut stained Brazillian Mahagony exterior doors.

Our plan is to use Musket Brown Aluminum for our boxing and gutter. Our only columns/posts will be stone faced. But seeing your light colored stone, a Musket Brown Column would stand out against the background... although a light colored one would stand out against the brick too. We felt that the Musket Brown blended with the windows well and made the gutters look like weathered copper.

We went with a Clay color soffit that was more grayish and it looks good.

Soffit vent area is a fraction of the attic floor area. The local building code will specify a value. Aluminum and vinyl both have their problems. The finish on aluminum can come off, vinyl gets brittle from UV exposure. Pick you poison. Both are low maintenance until they need replacement.

Well, the walls of our home are painted in Resort Tan and the trim is painted in Ivory Lace. Our metal rain gutters are beige. We painted the fascia board and the underside of the soffit the same as the wall color. Our painter kept telling us that that's not way it's usually done and we wouldn't like it. He wanted to paint it as it was originally, with the fascia, soffit and trim in the Ivory Lace. We insisted on the darker color and we love it. Several other homeowners in the neighborhood have done the same thing since they saw how ours turned out.

As long as there's gutters on the house the soffit damage in picture will occur regardless of siding used. Only diiference is you won't see damage before siding and wood fall off house.

IMO the house will never be modern no matter what color you paint it This is my fave color with brick only becuase it works with brick and also keeps all the surfases the same to harmonize the elemnets for a bit simpler look at least Remove the shutters too I think this look would be a much better one than what you are planning

Thanks for the feedback. Now I'm thinking to keep the soffit/facia the same bronze color as the windows and use a coordinated color for the collumns. Maybe something much darker than a traditional collumned porch, but I guess if it's only the collumns I can always re-paint! I'm gonna take the color samples back to the homesite tomorrow and look at it in natural light to see if I can find a good match to our stones.
