floorguy- you are correct. There is no rebar, just some thick wire in a mesh/grid pattern. DH was concerned when he first cut open the concrete. He believes the wire should have been embedded somewhat into the concrete. After removing more of the concrete to widen the opening, we discovered the wires are embeded into the concrete, now, in this new wider area. I forgot to mention..along with finding the large chunk of concrete, there is a piece of wood (looks like a 2 x 4) lodged below the drain pipe. We don't know why that's there. This area must have been a dumping site during construction & stuff just got left there? It's been 4 days since we dug out the sopping wet soil and exposed this drain pipe. The sprinkler system (installed many years ago by DH) includes pipes & risers along the area by the wall for the boxwood plants. There's also a hose/spigot connection there on that wall as well.

I have a couple. One in each bathroom under the sink, one by the water heater, one by the washer, one near the top if the sump hole, and one for under the kitchen sink. I had one with a sensor for under the DW, but I couldn't get it positioned in a helpful place. So I got a plastic pan that sets under it instead to let the water come out the front where it can be seen. Sure they have limitations, but they are not expensive. The one in the sump hole has already saved us once, so I consider them to have paid for themselves already. And I get to tell DH I was right, not crazy :-)

It was the first thing I ordered, and will be the last thing I receive. Faucet #1: Ordered on June 8, delivery from Home Depot. the Delta Touch20 faucet Addison model. When it arrived, I noticed what I thought was tiny balls of dirt under the shrink wrap and on the ground under the package on my porch. It wasn't dirt. It was those tiny magnetic balls from the magnet disc part that I believe goes under the sink. It had cracked. I think the damage happened in shipment - the faucet was packaged just like you pull it off the shelf. NOT packaged well for shipment. However, looking at it next to the RO faucet made me realize the Delta Leland design would look better than the Addison design. Faucet #2: Ordered on June 15, with pickup from Lowes. Estimated arrival of TODAY. I called Lowes today. They said their vendor had not even shipped it to Lowes yet. More phone calls reveal the Lowes' vendor doesn't even have it in their possession yet to ship to my Lowes store. Canceled the order.
