Has anyone bought a Nacogdoches rose lately?
Comments (11)I'd kill for good black soil. I live on limestone rubbles. Yuk. You can turn clay into very excellent soil on organic program. My mom's in Houston is very wonderful soil with full of earthworms. Drains very well, etc. The trick is not to have a bare ground at all. Bare ground makes it much worse. Last year, the rose was being sold at selected nurseries across Texas. I think it was to gauge how much interest there is for this rose before it becomes available widespread in April when it officially becomes Texas Superstar plant and being renamed as Grandma's Yellow rose (I much prefer Nacogdoches). If you want to give it a try and see how it goes, you can order one from Chamblee's. Antique Rose Emporium sells them but for some reason not online. Here is a link that might be useful: Nacogdoches...See MoreHas anyone tried any new teas lately?
Comments (11)Well, the "Lady Grey" tins had no expiration dates that I could read properly but I bought one. The "Prince of Wales" I bought is best used by 2012. I made a comment to the owner about expiration dates again, but he said "They just don't put them on do they?" Then he tried to convince me that the dates were only "shelf dates" and should not be sold after that. Well, I told him as he rang up a box of "Yorkshire Gold" tea bags that I gave a gift of this YG (purchased at his shop) to a friend one time and found out later it was nearly 2yrs. old! He said he doesn't understand the difference in taste really - oh brother. I answered it "Tastes like straw when old!" ha. he just smiled. Anyway, my box of YG is good until November of 2010 - 40bags to a box - how will I ever drink all of those before November? If anyone wants to sample Yorkshire Gold send me your address and I'll slip several or more bags into an envelope! And I also bought a small box of 20 Lapsang Souchong tea bags to try again. It has such an exotic smokey flavor that I didn't want to buy an entire tin. The shop owner also told me that Twinings is no longer going to offer the small packs of 6 bags. Have to buy boxes of 20bgs. in the future....See MoreHas anyone shopped electricity rates lately?
Comments (4)Well, I love the idea of shopping for electricity rates -- where I've lived in WI and MN, there's only one company that serves each area, so you're stuck with them if you want electricity. Our base monthly fee is $31.38. Yes, you're reading that right. Then the electric is .11330 per kilowatt hour. The company used to "give" water heaters away to their customers. Sounds good, doesn't it? Well, we've got an 80-gallon water heater in our basement, and our house size is less than 2,000 square feet. Your rates sound fantastic to me!...See MoreAnyone Bought Electrolux Icon Oven Lately?
Comments (2)Go to the Electrolux web-site for the Icon "Professional" series, (Link supplied below) It has the handles, I think You are looking for. While you are there, download the Operators manual for it, as well as the installation manual and specifications. I guess you are intending to "Stack" whatever oven you decide with the Miele Speed oven, (Which, by the way, I bet you will use more than the regular oven). I have the Elux speed oven and I use it a LOT! Baked taters in about 1/4th the time and a lot less energy used! Some of our "Artistic Folks" here can probably photo shop the Elux Icon Oven stacked with the Miele speed oven. When I get back from San Diego, I may give it a "Shot" but no guarantee on the result, (LOL). Gary PS: Also do the same for Wolf Oven, Download the items I mentioned for it, see which Operator's manual causes the "Most Salivating" (LOL) Here is a link that might be useful: Electrolux Icon Professional Series Oven...See Morecuddlepoo
