Bosch French door - bottom freezer refrigerator

Does anyone have this? I understand it's fairly new in the market.

We were going to go with the Bosch counter depth side by side but found a way to fit a regular size fridge into the plan by moving a wall. Yeah!

We have a Sears Treo French door and like it pretty well. We've had it about a year with no problems. It has water through the door. There are a couple things we don't like. Although a glass fits okay under the water spigot I can't use a pitcher because the recess is too shallow. Also when the ice bin gets full ice falls out when we pull the rack open. I also like the way the Samsung doors close more positively than the Sears. Although there is an alarm that tells you if the door is ajar I just like the door to close when I nudge it rather than having to push it shut. We are going to be building a new home hopefully this fall and at present I'm planning to have the Samsung French door with ice and water through the door. I'm buying a basic Whirlpool top freezer refrigerator in white to place next to my upright Whirlpool white freezer in the utility/hobby room. That way I'll have enough refrigerator space for all my veggies, sauces, condiments etc. I love to cook and really need a walk-in but can't afford it. Hope this helps you a bit. If you don't mind the couple inconveniences I mentioned go with the Sears Treo. I think ours was around $1600.

We are considering all the same issues as this poster. Our fridge will be on the far left of the row of cabinets in a galley kitchen, so it seems that opening a single door left-hinge fridge will be more convenient than an FD. I also am very concerned about energy efficiency and durability, so I have some questions about how well the FD models will seal long term. I have no interest in throwing my $2000 fridge out in 5 years! We did find a GE model that seems to fit the bill: PDCS1NBWLSS GE Profile Energy Star 21.1 Cu. Ft. Stainless Bottom-Freezer Refrigerator - Left Hinged. We have not bought this yet but are still shopping around. We want a modest sized one like this (again to avoid wasting energy for space we rarely need), but there may be something similar in a larger size. Good hunting! Good luck!

Carmela39 The ice issue is not a problem if you intend to use the dispenser as you described. It is not convenient to just put your hand into the ice tray to "get a handfull", otherwise it operates like any other auto icemaker/dispenser. The cabinet vs full depth is an appearence issue if the grey side of the cabinet is unappealing to you. You will see a full 6 inches of the painted side and additionally the half inch or so of the door gasket and then the depth of the stainless door with the full depth Samsung refrigerator with 24 inch deep cabinets (standard). Recessing the rear wall as I have indicated is the option many have taken (I was unable to do this since I live in an attached townhouse and this was the attached wall). If your contractor suggests this will be difficult I would defer to him (the issue is more than making the wall a few inches narrower). Regarding the availability of the reported CD Samsung french door model I refer you to the posting "Please Help- French Door Refrigerator Questions" on 7/18/07 at 16:11. Within this thread (near the end) is a posting by Britter making reference to the "new CD model". There were additional inquiries as others are also interested in this model. I would suggest contacting your dealer or his factory rep. for more information/verification. Finally, I have some photos of my installation but I am unaware of the method of posting/sharing them. Side by side or French door bottom freezer fridge???

After thinking it over for months and visiting friends who have FD and SS units, I opted for the single door refridgerator above and freezer below. I found that having to open both doors each time I was looking for something was a royal pain and the storage on each side of the door was somewhat limited, meaning you could fit some things and not others. I can fit much more on the single unit door than the French door models. It's easier to open one door at any given time than two when you have your hands full. We also kept our old unit and put it in the garage for extra storage space for beverages, and a little extra freezer space. I also saw the bottom freezer as a drawback but it's made me become more organized with the way I freeze. I went out and bought a slew of squared off containers for sauces etc that fit great & I can readily see them when I'm searching. I had my mind set on a S by S before buying for the freezer aspect alone but as with some of the other comments, I wasn't wild about the limited width of the fridge side. If I could add on to my house I would get the full size freezer and full size fridge units I've seen recently but that's not happening anytime soon!! :) Here is a link that might be useful: True side by side

Thanks, boschboy. I have three questions: (1)How is the cripser drawer space (we are a lots of veggies kind of house and need lots of veggie storage space)? (2) Any problems with closing/getting it to seal? (3) How is the noise level? Obviously 2 & 3 can'at be answered until after you've lived with it for a while, but maybe you can describe the crispers? Also, what drove your buying decision?

There are two produce drawers each are about 15" x 15" x 9" (w x d x h) and a deli drawer under the produce drawers that is 30" x 15" x 4".

I knew that I wanted the Bosch induction cooktop and dishwasher and I really liked the look of the french door fridge.

Here are some pics of the fridge in the garage. We are moving it into the house today and will finish set up tomorrow.
All wrapped up and ready to go. (The handles are on the inside.)

I have pulled one produce drawer out a little.

Here is the deli drawer pulled out.

And a closer look at the produce drawer.

I'll post more comments one we get it up and running.

I have had the refrigerator up and running for about a week now. I have no issues with getting the doors to seal when they are closed. I was even pleased that I could open the left door without having to open the right. I thought the door flap on the left was going to prevent that but was happily surprised.
The noise level is about 1/2 of what the 14-year-old GE Profile SxS was.
Also, the ice output is fantastic. I had read other posts about different brands being slow with the ice, but I am very impressed with this one.
The only issue I notice is the size difference from the old one. The GE Profile was 27.9 CF and the Bosch is 25.9.
