I think you have to step up to a 48" range to get 2 dual-fuel ovens. Fisher-Paykel & DeLonghi each make a 36" all gas range with 2 split ovens, side by side, but I'd want to make sure that these wouldn't be too small.

We went with a 36" DCS all gas range & electric wall ovens. The lowest range oven rack is 13" off the floor & the 2nd rack position, recommended for most use, is 15" off the floor, not too low IMO. For the electric wall ovens, we stacked a steam oven over a 27" convection oven, but you could do a stack with a speed cooker or microwave instead of the steam oven.

Having a big gas (convection) oven with infrared broiler and an electric convection oven elsewhere in the kitchen is the best of both worlds. You have an oven handy under your burners to finish foods or keep them warm without travelling through the kitchen. You also have a separate oven for other cooks to reduce congestion at the range. In our case, our wall ovens are smaller, so they get used for everyday cooking. Our range oven handles the big jobs & entertaining.

My fear would be tiny ovens. Have you considered either a range top or cook top (not as pricey as range tops) with double wall ovens?

The AGA Legacy range is available in a dual fuel model with two electric ovens. You might want to check that out. It's 36" wide, has five gas burners, and is available in a number of finishes, including stainless steel.

Thank you so much for all your advice and input. I had never heard of AGA before but it's something to consider. It doesn't look like they offer this range in stainless steel, so that's a drawback. And yes, I have considered double ovens on another wall, but I was trying to avoid doing that because it altered my cabinet configuration considerably.

What I think I might lean towards is a 36" dual fuel range with only one oven (or alternatively a 36" cooktop with a single oven beneath it) and a second 24" oven where my pantry is supposed to sit with the microwave over that. I have a small walk-in pantry, so at least I'm not eating up all my pantry space this way.

Any recommendations on a 36" dual fuel range? I know I'm probably opening up a can of worms with that one and I can do a search and become quickly overwhelmed with too many options but just thought I'd throw it out there :)

The Aga Legacy DOES come in stainless steel! Although there is no mention of it on their website, I have seen it in the showroom. Rather stunning, IMHO.

I am not sure, but the Legacy is probably pretty expensive, especially with the current exchange rates.

You would probably be better off with a 36" gas range, plus a seperate electric oven. This allows you to set up a baking center, while leaving the oven in the range available for roasts and the like. One additional advantage is that in the event of a power or gas problem, you could still do some cooking.

Click on the "View Colors" link on the right hand side of the AGA Legacy webpage, and you'll see stainless steel as one of the available choices for finish.

The multi-function oven in the Aga 36" Legacy range is small. Standard pans do not fit. I have one, and it has been very difficult to find pans that fit. There are NO large roasting pans big enough for a small turkey but small enough to fit in the oven on the market. Aga customer service is horrendous, and the pans that fit their regular ranges do not fit the Legacy. I love the way it looks in my vintage kitchen, but there are numerous problems. Do your research before you buy.

If you can go to a 44" wide range, Heartland Appliance has a new Dual fuel, double oven (with french door), stainless range. Heartland is an AGA company.

I'm starting my remodel and am in love with the look of the AGA legacy 36" but understand the ovens are just too small for regular cookware. I have been researching other British Ranges and am wondering if anyone has experience with something like the Rangemaster or Belling range cookers? I'm specifically looking for info on shipping and installation - is it really doable? It seems like the price is way too good to be true even with shipping. And, if anyone has purchased either of these, are the ovens large enough for standard cookware? Thanks very much.

We completed a kitchen remodel in April '09 and selected the 36' dual fuel Aga in vintage white with a cathedral window. We LOVE it!

I will say that this range was a splurge - it was $5,000! However, both my husband and I feel it was so worth it.

We did not want a kitchen dominated by stainless steel appliances. Without a doubt the Aga gave us a classic look - it's not vintage, per se, it's timeless and certainly is a show piece. EVERYONE who comes into the kitchen comments on the range.

I did not want wall ovens - I didn't want to take up that much space for something we would only use occasionally. The 36' Aga is perfect for us. When we entertain, I have had bacon wrapped apricots in the broiler, chicken and pasta baking in the multi-function oven and side dishes/desserts baking in the tall ovens. I love not having to fire up a huge oven when I just need to bake a side dish for two - the tall oven is perfect for that!

When my nieces/nephews visited, we spent a snowy afternoon baking cookies. The Aga kept up just fine!

In regards to the size of the ovens: In the tall ovens along the right side of the range, we bake our side dishes or a pie. I have had no problems fitting my Pyrex dishes into these smaller ovens.

We often use the tall oven for keeping breakfast items warm. Unlike other ranges, I can set it at 150 degrees and it's perfect for keeping bacon, biscuits, eggs warm. I can pull the warming tray out with my bare hands at this temperature. I also enjoy the plate warming rack that's at the bottom of this range.

We have gotten rid of our toaster and use the broiler for browning toast - love it! In order to broil a steak, I have to turn the rack upside down as otherwise it is too shallow. If I want to broil several larger pieces of meat, I use the multi-function oven.

Speaking of the larger, multi-function oven we have no problem fitting my 9 x 13' pan of pasta, beef tips, casseroles, etc. in this oven.

We generally do not cook turkey on Thanksgiving, so that's not an issue for us. However, with the main oven measuring 16w x 14d x 12h (shelf on the lowest rack), I can't see how roasting a turkey would be a problem.

It is true that when it came to my cookie sheets, I could not use my existing ones. I was sad to have to give my brother-in-law my Doughmaker cookie sheets - he was thrilled! However, the Doughmaker Biscuit Sheet (10' x 14') fits perfectly into the larger oven.

With the Aga gas cooktop, I can FINALLY cook grits without having any burn at the bottom of the pot. The precise flame control is fabulous - perfect for cooking tricky grits!

We considered the Aga 44' range but it was just too large! There was no way we needed to take up that much space - I wanted counter space! The 5-top burner is plenty big enough for cooking everything we need for a large get together. I'm not a foodie and I don't cook gourment - I specialize in just plain old good home cooking!
