Android os, questions??

I recently purchased a cruz reader. It has Android 2.0, I found after I received it I can not upgrade the os to 2.1 or 2.2. Anyway, I am constantly having to end task after I use an app.

Is that normal??

I also can not access google store.

Is there a download for the newer os that is free?? Or is the upgrade not compatible for a lot it devices and it isn't just the cruz?? Is google working to fix the compatiblity issues?? Or is that responsiblity on the maker of the device??

Sorry a lot of questions, this is my first device to own that runs Android. Thank you for any help in advance!!

I would suggest you hang out at one of the cruz forums they have a wealth of info. Also the cruz update page for firmware updates. I have a Pandigital Novel also running Android. It definitely should not be needing end task like that. I am on slatedroid forum tons of info there. The Cruz has much the same features as the Pandigital.

You should find out where and how to download your models latest firmware which they issue to help correct problems, for the PDN there have been many firmware updates.

you need to check your firmware version on your device and see if there is a newer one there.I would read both of those pdf guides there on that page and save them to disc so you have them available.

whether the makers of Cruz will provide any type of OS upgrade option is up to them and what they can work out with Google. I would not expect full access to Google store, there are some hacks available that can make some of that happen. The pdn forum on slatedroid is amazing and those folks have created all kinds of neat stuff for us including access to the market. I know there is some type of Cruz Market not sure what all that includes.

In answer it is up to the maker of the device.

best bet though find some Cruz specific forums and also some good Android forums like slatedroid.
I just am not that familiar with what all is available for Cruz.

I had a feeling that was the deal about google. Velocity Micro gave some extremely misleading info. I would not recommend that company to anyone.

I did the latest firmware update offered by VM for the cruz the day I got it. I have to run auto killer, which works sometimes. Then I have a shortcut for processes on the main screen cause I have to end them everytime I close an app. Which I was seriously hoping that was a flaw with the os itself and not just the cruz.

I seriously wonder how hard it would be just to format this device and get a clean non VM install. To me if it is easy to install the drivers that might be what I do. Ugh, I bet the drivers would be near impossible to find.

I had to look up the program, to see what the criteria was. There was no way I could see children all across this huge country receiving their plants at the same time, because of the disparity between zones as far as planting seasons...... and expect them all to be ready in September. Reading further, I see that they don't expect that. You just need a photo and measurements. I have never had a cabbage I planted in March grow until September, and if it did......it would be as tough and strong as a hockey puck. Your goal then if you're going for size is just to keep it growing as long as possible. Sadly, you found out what happens to cabbages when they react to a lot of water, especially if it comes after a dry spell. You may be able to just peel back gently that one split layer. If you don't and the leaf starts to die it'll get dry and leathery and could start up a rot on the good layers. I'm not a southern gardener so I really can't speak to how it's done down there. Just about cabbage in general. Have you measured it lately?

Navigating Youtube and Windows Android problem?

I've never connected the tablet directly to the pc. The pc is running Win7. In the past I've usually just gone directly to a youtube video without logging in, like Raven describes. I haven't changed any of my account settings on Youtube. But now when I go to the site on my pc I get a page that wants me to set up channels, and there isn't any way I can find to even get to the youtube home page. It's weird. I'm running Firefox 14.01. Settings might be the cause. I remember when I got the first tablet, playing with how the tablet browser displayed differently at sites using the android vs pc desktop display option inside the browser on the tablet. For a while afterwards when I visited sites like Huffpost, the site would ask which display I preferred. Thanks for the responses. I'll try to check the settings at Youtube.

I can't answer the chilling hrs question. But will say I just removed my Tangos. The fruit is OK not great. The stem pulls and bruising when harvesting are bad. They can't be harvested without damage. Common with flat peaches.
