Someone would have had to set that up for her, LOL. I am talking about someone who spent 15 minutes trying to enter the id and password on Vista's Welcome Screen. Someone who had to power off the PC by unpluging because she could not figure out how to do it with the new Start Bar of Windows Vista. Of course, it does not help when I do not have Vista.... Mikie thanks for the suggestion of Live Messenger. It reminded me that I once had it on my PC but deleted it for some reason. It may be a good choice. owbist, I have not heard about crossloop but I glad to hear it is easy to use. Might reduce the phone bills. It has taken her about a month to figure out how to use Yahoo Messenger and still does not initiate chats, I have to do that but she feels comfortable with it now. Thanks for the suggestion. It really helps when we get all the info that can be provided. Is this someone in your home you think is accessing it or someone elsewhere? Have you ever installed or used a remote assistance program and if so which one? Most of the remote assistance programs like teamviewer for example require you to give the other person a code to access the pc the code only works for that session, each new session requires a new code. If the person had access to your pc and you were not watching they may have been able to install some type of program that would relay info back to them. Do you have a firewall on the pc? what antivirus and malware programs do you have and are they updated and have you scanned? Is your pc connected to a router? and most importantly why are you suspicious what is happening? Have you checked your event logs to see if it is showing any log in activity other than yours? In any case it would be a very good idea to change the admin password on the pc and also if you have set up any additional user accounts either remove or delete them or at least change the passwords for those as well and of course use very strong passwords made of letters and numbers never of words or names. For example the first initial of your children or you and your husband throw in a & symbol and then some numbers like the year you were married or the last 4 digits of your phone number, easy combos to remember but very hard to break.

Just wanted to update my original post. Changed the passwords to Go To My PC. Easier said then done as they require various passwords and access codes. The secured network was the worse. I could never have figured this out without getting Linksys on the phone. They were very helpful and patient. I had 5 computers to work with and all were XP except my son's which is Vista. All had built in wireless except my husbands old machine which uses a plug in wireless adapter. We had to call Linksy's for each computer. That's 5 calls but finally all are working. I increased the security of Zone Alarm to high, ran scans on all and nothing is showing. So far that weird business has not showed up again. Usually, by this hour it is. I have used windowsXP remote desktop. Its a bit clunky but easy once you figure it out. Even easier which I use frequently on my home network is VNC (Virtual Network Computing). Add a small program to each computer and from my laptop take over my main desktop/network_server .. Just like sitting in the chair over there. Use MSN Messenger Remote Assistance from time to time to fix other peoples computers too. It's simple too, but clunky the first time or two you use it. But not as clunky as XP's Remote Desktop.
