Best Recirculating Island Hood?

I've lived for quite a few years in Manhattan apartments with no ventilation over my pro-style ranges (Viking, Wolf). It's never been ideal, but I've been able to deal with it, opening windows as needed.

More recently, I've taken to lots of stir-frying and high-heat searing and now am feeling the need for a good ventilator. I was never impressed with the Viking microwave-over-range solution, and I now have my range in an island setup, so that's not even an option.

I know a recirculating system is not ideal, but it's the only option for most NYC high-rise apt. kitchens.

Anyone have any recommendations for the best, most effective units on the market? Thanks in advance.
